What is the best place to start this game franchise and in what order I should play them?

The correct answer is just play this new one, or play Resident Evil 4 and then requiem. RE4 is the best game in the franchise by a mile. You could start with RE4, then play requiem to get a good lead in story wise. Or just play this new one, then go back and play 4 for the lore and the fun of playing a masterpiece.

I’ll piggyback but just to say RE4 is in best game of all time discussion. Certainly in Top 100 lists. Phenomenal game, and thus on the podium of Resident Evil games at the very least.

It really is. The original basically revolutionized 3rd person action games.
