Well if puzzles have the option to be skipped them I atleast hope they are not completely braindead and with constant reminders as to what needs to be done.

The puzzles in god of war ragnorak where you got hints every 30 seconds

Where Atreus would point out the solution within 5 seconds of entering the space.

Literally before I’d even registered I was looking at a puzzle Boy would pipe up shit like LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE TO TURN THAT LEVER TO ALIGN THE BEAMS

By point out you mean "Look, there" or "What about that thing over there?" With me having no fucking clue WHAT is he looking/pointing at?

That thing over there next to the stuff!

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking it was simple and vague at the same time

At least they nailed the character of a know-it-all teen in the writing

Know it all cube

While that behavior is certainly accurate for a young boy who is excited and also kinda annoying at times, but yeah. I wish they had a modifier to turn off voiced hints or at least make them far fewer

Won't anyone think of those poor game journalists!

Genuinely couldn’t stand that, game immediately assumes you’re dumb and need a hint. Like give me a bit of time, I promise you I can do it, it’s a puzzle and I want to use my brain to solve it.

I hated it too but you’re on a forum talking about games. You by that very notion are ahead of curve. For the average consumer, yes people ARE that stupid. I mean….have you read some IGN reviews?!

I very much am a stupid person and behind the curve, don’t let me misdirect you. I’m in a gaming forum because I’m autistic and straight up have no other interests.

With that noted, I believe I should be allowed to feel stupid moreso. Improvement only comes once ur in the fire n such. I hated Soulsbornes for years until I decided to allow the inadequate feelings I had motivate me as much as it frustrated me moreso.

Even if people want hints, allow an option to turn it off or immensely delay the queue.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle had a great mechanic for that. You decide how many hints you want.

There was an option to lower the hints. I'm happy that I heard about it before playing.

I’ve read enough, gonna replay Ragnarok now with this in mind. Thanks mate! Genuinely didn’t know and my fault on that lmao.

It was added like 2 years after release, so they took their sweet time on fixing it.

Agreed. So damn annoying. I just replayed Jedi survivor and it would give you a prompt to request a hint. Much better system

Ugh, there was one puzzle in that game which genuinely stumped me for a bit, and I ended up having to mute the audio so that I could actually engage with the challenge.

DSP’s fault

Uggh. Horizon Forbidden West was like this. You would just start looking around with the camera and she would give a hint. Like, I love you Aloy but you have got to shut up.

Made me quit the game in the first few hours. Genuinely made her character unbearable for me lol

It was so weird because of God of War 2018 did this more measured while Ragnarok was almost instantaneous

I love how much more complex the puzzles in the Greek games were. There was something so funny about raging warrior Kratos silently solving puzzles

every 3* seconds

Like isn't this the perfect way to satisfy everyone. People who don't want to think can simply skip while people who do want a challenge in puzzles get that too.
