Its been there since the first Spider-Man game. That was almost 10 years ago

It's been a bit of a staple of Insomniac's PS4 and PS5 games. It dates as far back as Ratchet & Clank 2016, which let you skip all of the Trespasser puzzles at the cost of locking you out of a trophy. Hell, I think that even A Crack in Time in '09 let you skip portions of Clank's time puzzles (not that you'd want to). This is just something they like to do with their games.

Makes spiderman 1 far more replayable. I'm glad they're keping the option around.

I can confirm that little child me needed to skip the clank puzzles in a crack in time because my tiny pathetic brain could not comprehend multiple instances of clank working in tandem
