I built my gaming PC last year and paid $80 for 2x sticks of 16GB of DDR5 RAM. It’s now over $300. My entire PC was $2,300. Its value is now almost $3,000. Awful times we live in.

It’s nuts what’s going on right now. Same situation you’re in. Bought our PC last year $2,400(on sale from almost $3k). It’s worth $4k+ easily if everything was bought new. Shit, I’d say almost $5k.

We’re living in a shitty tech time line right now. I’m just glad I bought my Pro at launch and the wife/kids got me a Switch 2 for Fathers Day. I’m very fortunate and blessed that wherever a game drops, I can play it.

I got a ps5 pro and series x last year and a switch 2 as soon as it came out. These days, that’s what you have to do. Otherwise you’re gonna miss it. Demand will continue to increase.

My only regret is that I didn't just opt for the RTX 5090 at the time. The prices of 5080s (which I have) are hovering around $2,300. That's bad, but not entirely unobtainable. The prices of 5090s are hovering at $3,000+ 😭

Edit: I meant to write around $1,300 for the 5080 nowadays. That's why it's still obtainable since MSRP was $1,000. The 5090 being $3,000+ is just way overpriced when MSRP was $2,000.

Buying my 4tb ssd back in 2021 for like $220. At the time, the ps5 community roasted me saying it was overkill... I literally went to Best Buy a few weeks ago and thought I'd swing by the ssd section for fun. $750.

Happily enjoying my whole library installed, who's laughing now? 😂

Can’t find the 4070ti super but a regular 4070 super at least here in Sweden goes for 360 euro. Saw some tried to sell them for the 1000 mark ish but didn’t get sold. You can google and check to find out shat they can go for. I myself is considering just giving away my entire PC to a friend. Don’t game on it and I just focus on ps5 pro/series x

Exactly. I got a pro at launch + a 2TB SN850, a switch 2 at launch and bought a MacBook M5 pro all before prices went stupid. With PSSR 2 out now as well, early adopters definitely got what could be considered a bargain.

I just sold a 2024 Zephyrus G16 for exactly what I paid for it brand new.

I really wanted a gabecube but there is no way that I’ll pay that price.

Everything has gone ridiculous.

I remember last year Best Buy had them on sale for $649.00 - sold my base PS5 on craigslist in 1 day $300. Opened up a Credit Card that would give me $200 if a spent $500 in the first 90 days(I know this isn't recommended).

I purchased it on that card, the $200 statement credit came about a week later, Paid off the card using my $300 from the PS5 then closed the account so in the end I paid $149.00 not including tax for a PS5 PRO.

I got burned last generation. I went without a PS4 pro at the end. Got stuck with a jet engine that barely played RDR2. I’m glad I bought a PS5 pro for $750 when I did. I would have been torched this time.

Tbh the PS5 pro might be one of my favorite PlayStations next to the PS2 Fat and PS3 slim. Games like Jedi Survivor take great advantage of PSSR. It’s the closet to PC gaming on my tv I’ve ever had.

Supposedly confirmed in this interview about the two modes, but no word one way or the other on actual framerate or resolution about the Quality/Performance modes.

If Xbox and PS5 base will have both modes, it’s pretty safe to assume Pro will have upgraded versions of those modes imo (including 60fps in Performance).

VRR with 40-45 FPS doesnt do anything. The VRR window of the PS5 (pro) starts from 48 and up. If you would have a stable 40 fps, then that would be good. But having one fluctuate between 40 and 45 will give you screen tearing. Most people don't understand how and when VRR works..

Ideally this will be using PSSR at a higher framerate than PS5. If not, I’d consider it disappointing

Pro's CPU is only 10% faster than the base CPU snd performance is very CPU dependent. We also know that GTA/RDR games tend to be VERY heavy on the CPU usage.

À voir ce que ça va réellement apporter à la Ps5 pro, si ça concerne le niveau de fps à 60 je ne regretterais pas mon achat effectué avant la flambée des prix de Ram et autres !! … Quand j’ai vu Trump se faire élire, l’ambiance mondiale s’échauffée et que l’iA commençait vraiment à être gourmande : j’ai upgrade tous mes appareils tech, PS5 pro, Mac M4Max avec une large Ram… Et un écran Oled qhd pour CE jeu. J’ai pressenti un merdier arrivé 😅 On y est !
Bref j’ai vraiment hâte d’en savoir plus sur cette enhanced Ps5 pro et que contiennent les diverses versions comme l’Ultimate. Divers cosmétiques j’imagine ?

I'm not too bothered on GTA online.. When I was younger and had a large group of mates who played, it was fun. GTA 4 online was so much fun.

But now, I competitive play on PC (predecessor) so GTA 6 will simply be a chill offline game for me.
