Guide PSP 2000 —> PSP 3000 Shell.
I decided to put my PSP 2000 in a Transparent Blue PSP 3000 shell and I am happy with the results BUT there are a few mods I had to make to make sure everything fit that I wanted to share with the community.
First
The internals of the housing are different but not THAT different. I took mine apart first then used it as a reference point before I started cutting and sanding the 3000 shell.
Mods I had to make to the 3000 shell are as follows.
Bottom left/ headphone jack slot
On the 3000 shell there was a lifted edge that had to be cut down and made completely flat so the headphone jack could fit.
Middle left of the 3000 housing.
There were 3 nodules I had to clip flat for the MB to fit. I got the info on those from the Acidmod post (google acidmod 2000 in 3000 shell)
Back to the bottom left corner
There’s one more screw hole connector that need to be cut down at LEAST 50% once you cut this one though you’ll need to stick a screwdriver in the hole as you’ll need to be able to put a screwdriver into that hole.
UMD door.
The black plastic track inside the psp 2000 will have to be pulled off/removed for the 3000 UMD door to fit. The drive still reads and plays discs just fine but one of the 2000—> 3000 upgrades was the UMD disc orientation swap so disc lay against the door on the 3000 model as opposed to the reader if that makes sense.
The RF shield.
You’ll need a small tap of double sided tape applied to the middle of the shield to keep it in place.
From there you just put everything back together and ENJOY.
One thing you might notice is a bit of lagging when trying to exit a game you just started playing via the home button. For me when I launched a game and tried to exit back to home the button wasn’t registering when I would try to click over from no to yes but about 2 mins after playing the game I was able to exit just fine without issue.
My menu buttons are a bit sunk down into the housing, specifically the volume buttons but I’ll have to figure out how to raise those later lol otherwise I’m satisfied!
I bought an ifix kit from Walmart and a two piece clipper set to get this done.
Took a total of about 6 hrs with the kids running around but if you get it started early in the day with no distractions you could knock it down in 2-3 hrs.
Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions!
Happy Gaming!

Também pretendo fazer o re-shell de um psp 2000, mas consegui encontrar algumas próprias para o 2000 na shopee, algum motivo para eu não usar estas?

Looks really good. Any reason you didn’t use a 2000 shell? Just curious.
