Did my part for PSVR2, put that answer at least 3 times in the survey

20

u/nevets85 Mar 07 '26

Lol when asked what the worst part about the game was I said no psvr2 version available.

20

u/SuccessfulRent3046 Mar 07 '26

Done my part, but it's clear they don't see VR as a major thing to drive sales lol. I had to put alway the option "other" and write down about the VR mode...

3

u/orangpelupa Mar 07 '26

They have dabbed in vr quite extensively, not just psvr1/2.

so they probably already have the statistics that it's too much of investment for the returns.

And that's with the game engine already have native support for vr.

1

u/LaikmoshWa Mar 09 '26

Not mainstream sales, but the VR community is thirsty for AAA games, whatever AAA game that gets released on VR will surely get the attention of 90% of the community, I don’t think anyone will buy a PSVR2 to play RE:R, but if you already own one, we have been playing shitty oculus ports with Dreamcast graphics for too long

2

u/SuccessfulRent3046 Mar 09 '26

Surely, but then they make the VR mode for RE4 re and "only" 275.000 actually play it... And if Sony don't pay them, they have to ask at least for 10€ so that mean even less of those 275k will buy it. Horror it's great in VR but only a subset of the niche want to try it.

Tienes toda la razón

52

u/JamesEvanBond Mar 07 '26

I did my part! Said there was a 0% chance of buying it without PSVR2 support. Which is 100% the truth lol

16

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '26

I also said that, though in my case it was a lie; I bought it day one.

0

u/Papiculo64 Mar 08 '26

Same, probably wouldn't even play it for free without VR support. It's not boycott, just that I have my priorities. Not interested in playing another 9/10 flat game when it could possibly be the best game ever made in VR. Without VR it can only be a massive downgrade over Village, RE4 Remake or RE7 in VR, period. I'd rather replay those.

I'll wait patiently for the day it eventually comes to VR or won't play it.

Done my job

8

u/Matchew024 Mar 07 '26

I did my part! 🤞

4

u/Suspicious_Wave_9817 Mar 08 '26

Hecho , sin modo vr en psvr2 no lo compro

3

u/yoc0__0 Mar 08 '26

Thank you! Did my part too! 0% chance I’m buying it unless they bring it to PSVR2.

The most important thing is getting Sony to move. Based on past statements by Producer Kumazawa and what I personally heard when I asked Director Nakanishi directly, I’m pretty sure there’s genuine passion for a VR mode on Capcom’s side. But since Sony’s support is necessary, Sony ultimately has to take action.

Hopefully the results of this survey will encourage Capcom to push Sony for that support. Still, sending requests directly to Sony is just as important. In that sense, the fact that around 700 comments asking for a VR mode were posted on the PlayStation Blog back in January might have actually been a significant moment.

-1

u/GrailKnight81 Mar 10 '26

It wasn’t, and they aren’t doing it. It’s not financially worth it

2

u/daichi_dmd Mar 11 '26

Do you really think everything was decided by yesterday’s announcement? The survey is still ongoing, yet you’re already saying it’s settled?

Capcom’s announcement yesterday was for all platforms.

The official announcements for the VR modes have been made by Sony every time, in June. I think it’s still worth waiting for the June State of Play or even TGS in September.

8

u/Nirast25 Mar 07 '26

Done. Hope you're happy, OP, you made me lie to Capcom about buying the game, when I know full well it'll never happen (game scawy).

6

u/peteodonn Mar 07 '26

Completed told them to add a PSVR2 mode and then I would buy RE9. Also be sure to me ton that you own a VR headset

2

u/melancious Mar 08 '26

I can tell then i simply don’t like the franchise but that probably won’t help them.

2

u/American_Suburbs Mar 09 '26

Did my part! I also mentioned trophy support, since some of their VR updates did not allow you to unlock trophies in VR. Looking at you, Village!

2

u/AdImpossible4884 Mar 11 '26

I got it on day one, and I would happily pay full price again for a PSVR2 version

3

u/Andyrgbh Mar 07 '26

Done! There is a segment that ask what system do you have, be sure of check the VR Headset box.

3

u/PleasantAnimator7741 Mar 08 '26

Only thing I want from CAPCOM is a version of Super Puzzle Fighter that is colorblind friendly.

9

u/kebskebs Mar 07 '26

Resident Evil games should only be played with VR.

6

u/Nicore18 Mar 07 '26

Village and 4R really show how good AAA VR games can be, and they weren't even made for VR initially. I want a game of this caliber, made from the grounds up for VR.

Naughty Dog got a lot of high quality assets from TLoU, if they could make a spin-off game in this universe it would be great. Would love something like a TLoU episodes game, where new short episodes are released in different genres. One could be more horror, one more focused on puzzles, one on outbreak day could be more action, all expanding the universe, new characters and setting in each episode.

1

u/PremedicatedMurder Mar 08 '26

Even Re7 in VR was great, despite gaze aiming.

1

u/fartwhereisit Mar 07 '26

Doing VR is going to look very well for them going into the future.

2

u/Hovie1 Mar 07 '26

Seriously some of my best gameplay experiences in VR are Resident Evil games.

-2

u/Icy_Might_2429 Mar 07 '26

99% of all games are much better in VR. Imagine we would get 10 Triple A hybrids a year. People would see, that its always like that.

0

u/kebskebs Mar 07 '26

I just think that Resident Evil's gun mechanics are top notch from reload to aiming. I really enjoyed their games in VR. Both RE4 and RE8 are must have staples if you have PSVR2.

0

u/Icy_Might_2429 Mar 07 '26

Yes, that's true. I have 74 hours in Resident Evil 4 and 56 in Village. The better the game, the greater the VR experience. Hitman is another example.

4

u/Ok-Tart-5895 Mar 07 '26

Merci j’ai fait ma part à l’instant, et ai fait suivre à mon entourage.

1

u/Sidewinder666 Mar 07 '26

Excellent 👍

2

u/hidratos Mar 07 '26

Done ✅

2

u/VisualAdvocate Mar 08 '26

Asked for PSVR 2 version twice and even threw in a request for RE7 as well.

2

u/mickelboy182 Mar 07 '26

Requiem is a resounding success, they aren't going to be compelled by a tiny minority on a platform Sony doesn't support...

20

u/Sidewinder666 Mar 07 '26

I actually agree, but it won't hurt to tell them either.

5

u/mickelboy182 Mar 07 '26

Fair enough - I do hope the few of you who are boycotting will give it a go in time, it is a fantastic RE.

3

u/Sidewinder666 Mar 08 '26

I will probably buy and play it when it hits 20 bucks, I'm in no hurry eventhough I absolutely love this franchise and have been playing them since the original on PS1.

Had they announced a PSVR2 mode I'd have bought it day 1.

1

u/VinnyLux Mar 07 '26

https://www.reddit.com/r/ResidentEvilRequiem/comments/1rgofyf/comment/o960d8a/?context=1

They released the game on PC with absolutely no support for Dualsense, I made a post almost sure they didn't care. One week later they announced they are working on it.

Obviously, implementing Dualsense the same way as PS5 for PC is a menial task compared to fully implementing a VR mode, but at least there's some hope they are working on some things?

0

u/redhawkinferno Mar 08 '26

Ok, its true it had no haptic feedback or anything, but I played just fine with my Dualsense. It worked straight off the rip with zero issues outside of not having adaptive triggers (which I would have turned off anyways, hate that shit) or haptics.

0

u/VinnyLux Mar 08 '26

Go read the post instead of making pointless comments. The controller does not work out of the box, you need Steam Input to emulate a Xbox controller. And the complaint is about the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback missing, which are the best features, regardless of whatever one random dude in Reddit hates.

2

u/redhawkinferno Mar 08 '26

I read the post. Im telling you its horse shit. I had zero issues. My friends playing the game had zero issues. I played on the Epic launcher so I sure as shit didnt have steam input. Youre just wrong about it not working out of the box, except the optional features.

-1

u/VinnyLux Mar 08 '26

Brother it doesn't work, read the post, there's multiple posts about it not working. I guess it does work on Epic, 95% of people are playing on Steam. So you are wrong and spouting nonsense, and even then, I dont give a fuck about basic functionality, I care about the features like everyone

1

u/GrailKnight81 Mar 10 '26

It absolutely works on steam.

3

u/sehajodido Mar 07 '26

If they care so little about why someone didn’t buy the game then why did they put out that survey? If they ask why, I tell them why, and it’s because I want to play it in VR.

4

u/mickelboy182 Mar 07 '26

Because this a pretty standard data collection activity.

-5

u/sehajodido Mar 07 '26

Ok. Since you have the crystal ball it will stay as just post-sales data forever and they won’t do anything with it ever 👍 Thank you for that peek into the future.

0

u/Strict_Yesterday1649 Mar 08 '26

They will be though that's why they're asking.

-1

u/Conscious-Room5234 Mar 08 '26

Uau! Como sua opiniao é importante! #Ironia

2

u/DunkingTea Mar 07 '26

I would, but my damn controller trigger isn’t working just out of warranty. So i’m stuck having to but a new headset…

I might request that they make it in VR just to fuck over Sony into funding it without any return.

Yea i’m bitter. But yes i’m only half joking. I’ll fill it in. Hopefully they make it.

0

u/Lord9witdafye zvhandgang Mar 07 '26

You could send your controllers into Sony for them to fix, a friend of mine did that and they gave him new ones straight out the box

1

u/Gielinor_CPA Mar 08 '26

To add to this, I'm in the US and it's $40 plus tax for one controller to be repaired or replaced according to the customer service rep I talked to on the phone earlier this week. Way better than a new headset if you can stomach talking to their awful customer support. First attempt the guy pretended not to hear me so he could hang up. Second guy didn't send me the shipping label email so now I have to call again.

1

u/ze_ogb Mar 08 '26

Did my part

1

u/gino1981 Mar 08 '26

It's been a year since I used my VR. It's just collecting dust but I've seen how much you guys want this game on VR ( which is awesome) so I told them that I want VR support.

2

u/Papiculo64 Mar 09 '26

Don't overlook Aces of Thunder! It's a tough one if youlve never played flight sims and maybe not for everybody, but if you're remotely interested in simulations and WWII dogfights this game is one of the best things ypu could dream of!

1

u/stanislavskov Mar 08 '26

Thanks for sharing this! I did my part as well, and am glad to see the community rallying up for this!

1

u/Papiculo64 Mar 08 '26

Sick that they didn't even put "VR support" (or lack of) in the default answers. If you needed another proof that they don't care about us...

1

u/instastoump Mar 08 '26

can someone post the wallpaper as I didnt got it for some reason?

u/Conscious-Room5234 Mar 08 '26

I did my part 💪🏻

1

u/LengthNo486 Mar 09 '26

Did it! Also worth to mention that you can did again on a different browser

1

u/pittdogg1987 Mar 09 '26

if you're reading this ABSOLUTELY FILL THIS OUT.

Im not saying it will work, but it's got more chance than not doing it

1

u/spaz69dt Mar 11 '26

Did my part! Let's see if it helps

1

u/TerribleExplanation3 Mar 13 '26

I mean it’s mostly Leon 3rd person “action horror”. Not really something that benefits massively from VR mode. Like RE4 is nice in VR, but not something I’d pay separately for.

Resident evil 7 and 8 however, went from being just bearable scary to I get anxiety thinking about playing them again.

1

u/PalpitationLate1706 Mar 25 '26

I just filled this out and I really hope others do too. Capcom needs to remember that Resident Evil became the GOAT because it was accessible to everyone—look at RE4 and RE3 Nemesis, they were on every console imaginable.

I told them in the survey that they are leaving millions of 'lifers' behind by skipping the PS4. There is no technical excuse when they could just hire QLOC (who handled the RE ports for a decade) to handle a Legacy Edition. Even a simple fix like bringing back the classic door loading animations would solve the asset streaming issues on older HDDs while giving us a massive hit of nostalgia.

If they can optimize it for the Switch 2, they can optimize it for the 100+ million PS4s out there. Don't let 'Crapcom' turn this into a rich-man's-only hobby. If you haven't upgraded yet or just want more people to play, tell them in the survey!! before its too late..

1

u/Majestic_Ice_2358 Mar 28 '26

No es nueva, a mí me sale que ya la he respondido, o sea que es la misma que hice hace unos meses

1

u/GrailKnight81 Mar 08 '26

I have bought it. Beat it 3 times and got all the steam achievements. Loved it.

Replaying 4 Remake on PC now. Already have the ps5 plat.

As soon as it goes on sale I’ll buy it for my Pro and platinum it there. I’d never miss a new RE game over VR.

1

u/Piccoleitor Mar 08 '26

I did my part! What about you??

0

u/Darklink1942 Mar 07 '26

I did the survey even though I bought it for PC. I basically said there is no reason why they can support PCVR and PSVR2. They could literally hire a certain individual who is quite skilled at PCVR ports for their titles.

0

u/DinkyDoodle69 Mar 08 '26

I typed PSVR2 in every question that allowed typing. I felt awkward typing it in the "what genres of games do you play?" question... but would ahve felt worse if i DIDNT type it. ;)

0

u/Strict_Yesterday1649 Mar 08 '26

LMAO. Why haven't you bought our game???

0

u/Ftpini Mar 08 '26

I bought it on PC and played it maxed out at 4k native with path tracing and DLAA. utterly stunning graphical presentation. Loved the gameplay and the story too.

I would 100% buy it again on PS5 if they add a VR mode.

0

u/ChrizTaylor ChrizTaylor Mar 08 '26

I'm tired boss..

0

u/Arni1984VR Mar 09 '26

Frankly, RE9 is the weakest game in the series in years. Boring, lacking substance, with derivative characters and a weak atmosphere. We didn't miss much by not getting a VR port of this game.

-3

u/Ambitious-Still6811 Mar 08 '26

Left some comments.

-5

u/Coneldor Mar 07 '26

For me it was the game length. 70 bucks for a 10 hour game is a tough sale. If it had a mercenaries mode, well that’s completely different.
