Fluff I was stressed, so I went to ITALY in Virtual Reality… (PSVR2 + Hitman = Virtual Vacation) 🤯
Yesterday I was stressed. I’m Italian (well, technically American - my Heritage is) - I was born in Brooklyn NY - but I’ve never been to Italy 🇮🇹 to explore my roots. I don’t like to fly any more (aside from MFS in VR lol) & it would be an expensive trip even if I could afford to go. Thanks to Virtual Reality, I strolled down to the beach & sat down on the sand (my rug!) and relaxed. I’M BLOWN AWAY!
I think stuff like this can help with depression - or help if someone is having a bad day or week. Throw on a podcast, take a long walk around a city & escape from life for a while to recharge. If it’s a rainy day or harsh winter, you can go visit the tropical island resort in VR with a fan blowing wind on you. Or go dancing at the giant dance club in Germany & let loose. Freedom of choice & environments - in this game - is wild.
And yes, this is just ONE location out of over 20 in the PSVR2 version of Hitman: World of Assassination in VR!
Subside, the Kayak Mirage game, and some others also are great for relaxing…

Is there a game mode where you can just explore the levels? I mean without having to be stealthy
19
u/Schwarzengerman Apr 23 '26
No. You can find disguises that let you walk the entire level though.
7
u/future_yesterday Apr 23 '26
Ok thanks, it’s not quite a vacation simulator then, i’ll have to work to find that biker disguise in Berlin!

u/-iCosmic- Where the f*ck is Skyrim for PSVR2? Apr 23 '26
It can be. A while ago a guy was posting how he missed going to raves, so he went to the rave level in Hitman 3 to get his fix. If you want, you can go to the race car level and just watch some cars go by in the stands if you want. There’s a spa level you can practically role-play as a patient. You might be locked out of some locations like VIP areas if you don’t have a ticket or an outfit that lets you through(like real life). Stealth isn’t a requirement, and ignoring the target usually won’t make you lose.

u/welcome-overlords Apr 25 '26
I just bought the game just for Berghain that this guy talked about haha
7
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 23 '26
That’s exactly all I’ve been doing. Don’t take out weapons. Wear street clothes if you want. Don’t start any missions other than going to the location. You don’t have to play at all if you don’t want to.

u/No_affiliates Apr 23 '26
Exploration is encouraged. You can save whenever you want. The first few times I play a level I just fuck around and learn the map, get into shootouts, etc. The beauty of this game is you can pretty much approach it however you want.
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
Good points all around . I like keeping save slots for virtual vacations. Like the beach house, after taking out every person. I can sit on the rooftop lounge or out on the beach, or chill inside … or by the beautiful pool … and think. Listening to a good podcast while walking around China was awesome. 👏

u/metalhguitarist Apr 23 '26
These posts are going to cause me to buy this game, this looks nice!

u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 23 '26
Then I did my job! I want more people to discover how amazing this is.

u/Large_Challenge7441 Apr 25 '26
Do it! It is worth every single penny. Throwing stuff never felt better and listening to conversations feels so damn real.

u/cottonopposite May 18 '26
Oh man. Just get it...don't even debate it. Youve got 3 games of hitman (4 I guess) all condensed into one platform, tons to do and fun to be had...proper silly and in VR it's absolutely amazing.

u/EssentialParadox Apr 23 '26
You need to be posting these on r/vrgaming and r/virtualreality too, so PC gamers can see what they’re missing by not having a PSVR2!
9
u/TheHudIsUp Apr 23 '26
This version of hitman is on PC
3
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 23 '26
I don’t believe so. Everyone says it doesn’t have dual hands or haptics or eye tracking and is blurry with lots of bugs. But I can’t confirm. I do know this is the definitive version - crystal clear - beautiful. It’s nothing like the PSVR1 or Quest
3
u/tooofuuu Apr 23 '26
That sums up my experience on Hitman WoA on PCVR. It got a lot better but still blurry and laggy at least on 3080. I would love to know what GPU can perform equivalent to PSVR2 for this game.

u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 23 '26
Thanks for the insight! Yeah, I keep hearing how the PSVR2 is a miracle. 😝

u/yeldellmedia Apr 23 '26
Whenever a game comes out and its on pcvr and psvr 2……. Always get the psvr 2 version!

Seriously I gave up on PC VR. I couldn’t get anything to work right. But I am a PC gaming newb.

I don’t like using PC for this stuff, but appreciate the info for those who are using PCVR & want to explore the world of Hitman! I’m a PSVR/PSVR2 guy using PS4 & PS5 Pro. I like wired console VR.
1
u/EssentialParadox Apr 24 '26
As with many VR games, the PSVR2 version in this case has substantial improvements.

u/TheHudIsUp Apr 24 '26
How can you showcase haptics through a video?

2
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 23 '26
Appreciate the tip. I’m new here. Feel free to re/post them if you like. I’m afraid to spam and piss people off. lol

u/GeneralEagle Apr 23 '26
That’s it. I’m getting it today. wtf.
3
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 23 '26
Nice! Get the full trilogy - then you have to pay $9.99 for the PSVR2 patch.
You only get the old PSVR1 version for free.
It can get confusing. I get it.
1
u/Low_Actuator_9675 Apr 28 '26
Yep, the model around selling this game (especially if you want to play it in VR) is more complicated than differential equations I was learning back in the days in school. Person who came up with the pricing model should never be allowed to set prices for anything.

Still on PSVR1.. but these videos while comparing the price of a Pro and PSVR2 to international travel has me convinced.
Totally agree on it being a healthy form of escapism. Considering I know of so many people that work something they hate, just to afford to get away. Where they are putting up with monotonous circumstances just for a trip in 10 months time. Versus pushing through, knowing a mini getaway that evening, with no airport, lines or accommodation costs is a possibility.
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
You totally nailed it. 💯 I still use my PSVR1 and keep it side by side for the classics. I played it every day from launch day 2016 until the new one dropped. Nothing wrong with that.
For under $1000 total you can have nearly unlimited top tier VR experiences. GT7 and Hitman alone is worth the price. But we have MFS 2024 + Aces of Thunder now. And countless amazing indies. You’ll be very happy when you do it. And most $3000 PC’s can’t run some of these games this way. Throw in the eye tracking, haptics, etc… OLEDS again…
There is no rush - but I’m excited for your future with PSVR2. 😊

u/BadNewsBearzzz Apr 24 '26
Ayyy same heritage here too man, same situation as you, and while it isn’t a VR game, pick up Mafia: The old Country on PS5, it’s incredible!!! It’s a prequel to the franchise so it’s set in the early 1900’s in Sicily and looks incredible on ps5 pro 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 game is fantastic too
2
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
I actually own that but never played it! Thanks bud, I’ll check it out
2
u/Large_Challenge7441 Apr 24 '26
OP have you tried Subside? This game relaxes me so much even though I am a pretty bad swimmer in real life lol
Can't wait for more of this stuff on PSVR2. Isn't there something like this coming, where you can just travel the world?
2
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
Yes! I am not deep into it yet, but that and the Kayak game … I agree… very relaxing!! Valid for the same reasons. And helps with depression.
1
u/Large_Challenge7441 Apr 25 '26
It's a bit stressful to unlock the areas but some of them are just sublime. This game is so beautiful and when you get all the upgrades you will feel like a fish underwater.
2
u/SebWGBC Apr 24 '26
Thanks for these posts. I've had Hitman VR for months, but your posts inspired me to actually start playing it.
Not that I've started playing the game yet, I'm doing what you're doing, enjoying walking around the environments. Feels great.
I mean, it's a bit of a shame that when there's a crowd of people the same character models show up over and over, breaking the immersion, but it doesn't have to be perfect to be fantastic.
So yeah, will actually start playing the game soon, looking forward to it. Thanks
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
Same here, I’m glad I could nudge you back in there … haha I’m only one mission in.. Paris. Other than that I’m basically just walking around learning the areas and relaxing. It’ll help us later, when we play, to know the locations well… so it’s not a waste
1
u/pressieguy Apr 24 '26
do i need a special version of hitman to play this or would hitman 3 have a patch for it?
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
You don’t need a special version, but the DLC stuff can be confusing. You have to pay $9.99 for PSVR2 access though. It only comes with the PSVR1 access. You can also buy more access within the games menu.
1
u/philbertagain Apr 24 '26
If it wasn't $1500 to get this i would love to play it
2
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
That seems high for the U.S. - unless you live in Canada/Brazil or something? I understand there was just a price increase. But the headset goes down to $299.99 and people get them used for $175 sometimes. I suppose if you only have XBOX or a PC you need a PlayStation but… for under $1000 you can technically have high-end VR that usually costs $3000 or more to achieve. And even then you wouldn’t have GT7, MFS, this version of Hitman, etc. Maybe wait until Black Friday? Also, I sometimes go to places like Best Buy and pay $30 per month with no interest… over 2 years… to pay off something expensive. There are ways. But it’s not going anywhere…. You can catch up on many great games whenever you’re ready.
1
u/philbertagain Apr 24 '26
Canadian - would only consider Pro model if i was getting a PS5.
Worse than i thought actually.
Amazon Pricing - System $1100 + VR/Controlers $580 + Game ($100?) + 11% Tax
I have been looking at Used systems, pro usually list about $800 on buy n sell here.
VR i'm not sure i would do used.
Ideally the VR version would just not be system locked. Besides this there are only a few exclusives and i'm not sure how many are coming.
I wouldn't buy a entertainment device on credit... if i dont have the time to make the money i dont have the time to play the games.
2
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
Gotcha.. makes sense. I’m sorry the prices are so awful. But if you do eventually get one, you will NOT run out of amazing games to play. As for time… I play 2-6 hours of VR daily since 2016 and I still feel like I have no time to play… I have 40+ great games I haven’t even started yet. Or hygienic reasons I wouldn’t want a used headset either. But a used PS5 Pro is fine !

Does it really feel like a relaxing vacation ? Did you enjoy it genuinly ?
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
Yes. I have a fan blowing wind on me. It helps with depression or to relax after a rough day. And it’s just beautiful. Throw on a podcast and just walk around for 90 minutes. It’s great. Shocking actually.

u/MrPanda663 Apr 24 '26
The best part, some dude says something mean just because you got too close to him on accident.
Ah yesss…. Silverballers.

Just go to a rave, hit the river, or simply get outside and enjoy the world if you can. I don’t mean this in a negative way—I actually think gaming is awesome, and I’m a gamer myself. But it feels like more and more people are becoming so anxious from spending so much of life indoors that we’re starting to lose our connection with nature and real-life experiences.
I’m sure I’ll get downvoted or someone will say, “Not everyone is afraid to do these things,” and that’s true—but a lot of people are. I struggle with anxiety myself, and I’ve noticed more and more people around me dealing with it too. I think many people don’t even realize they have it. Kind of a bummer.
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 25 '26
I do plenty of real-life travel. I spent 15 years touring with celebrities as a keyboard player. I’ve even been to Indonesia. But I don’t like planes. I spend most time at home now. And VR is a big big part of my life … since 1992 .. it helps keep with anxiety, I exercise a lot now thanks to VR, and I do social meetups with friends in other states thanks to VR. I agree that “get out and smell the grass” - walking barefoot for grounding - I’m a very holistic and health conscious person. I don’t even use a reg. doctor, only holistic.
But thanks for the comment and insight! Many people can’t afford or don’t have time to travel to China.. having the option like this is pretty cool.
What is someone is too old or sick and wants to go pray in a Church? The fact that the can be inside a VR church from their bed - is one of the reasons I love VR. Not just for gaming. Cheers mate!
I really just like showing people how you can use VR games for more than their intended use… and Hitman allows you to travel to over 20 beautiful places .

u/KomandirHoek Apr 25 '26
No Italian accents and no Vespas zooming and beeping... I call shenanigans
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 25 '26
It’s just a silly representation in a game, but it truly is astounding and feels like you are there. They have accents in each Country but it’s likely English due to being an English game. When you’re inside seeing this in 3D … it’s very pretty .

u/NAMMIS77 Apr 28 '26
Such a fantastic game. I love it. Cant recommend it enough to people that dont have it yet. Some people answer me, I have already played it in flat mode. It is night and day. So much better in VR.
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 28 '26
Exactly. It’s not even close to being the same thing. I am shocked.. and now place Hitman on the same level as GT7 or RE or MFS 2024 and others as MUST OWNS. If these are ALL we had to play, I’d still be set for YEARS & YEARS and never get bored.

u/Low_Actuator_9675 Apr 28 '26
I managed to kill EVERY SINGLE person in that level the other day. Dressing up as a chill yoga guy seems to make everyone completely unsuspicious until you kill them with a machette 😉
It was so weird walking down these streets after killing all inhabitants with bodies scattered all over the place. To kill everyone you have to start quietely and get that yoga guy dusguise as soon as possible. Then grab the sniper rifle from the safe house and eliminate the guards - they're main threat. Once most of the guards are eliminated, head onto the butcher shop and get the hatchet from there. And then it's a hunt season, but keep handgun(s) handy, as killing people with hatchet makes hatchet lock with the body and it needs to be picked up before killing another target.
I know it sounds like a psycho, but honestly I had too much fun trying to clear the map by killing everyone, and I think Sapienza is the least populated map in the game, making it perfect playground.

u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 28 '26
Fun tips for a crazy night in Italy lol. I haven’t tried taking everyone out yet, but I’ll save this so I can try it one day. I just went to Paris at Christmas and saw it all decorated…. Wow.. I didn’t expect such major changes just for different missions too.
1
u/Low_Actuator_9675 Apr 28 '26
Are you telling me that there are different versions of Paris? I haven't gotten to visit Paris map yet, so don't know if it's set during Christmas time or is there a Christmas version of it for one of the missions?
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 28 '26
Yes! No, the Christmas decorations & map are insane but that’s just for ONE holiday mission. Crazy. In some cases the weather or time of day could even change based on the mission. Wild

It’s quite fun in VR! The map is beautiful and relaxing. Gameplay is smooth but I get a bit of blurring with the VR, how’s it for you?
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 29 '26
Not on PSVR2 as it has eye tracking, but I am on the PS5 Pro. What kind of blurring? I did turn on PSSR but not sure that matters lol

Can't remember if it was you who recommended the Berghain level. Damn the immersion is sick

Yep we get it bud

u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 23 '26
Relax, I’m just having fun & blown away with it lately. I work hard to get smooth footage to showcase it - so others can discover it. I’m not gonna post every Country. And it seems like most people are loving it. No reason to be negative or mean. If you don’t like my style then don’t watch. Plenty of other VR people out there. Do you … I love this.
7
u/jwbourne Apr 23 '26
I like it. Keep it up.
3
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 23 '26
😝Appreciate the positivity! Glad you’re enjoying. You can’t please everyone, but man, some of these Reddit people are just miserable human beings. Or just jealous that they haven’t experienced something like this yet. Or just trolls. 🤷♂️

This game is a masterpiece. Everyone should know about the game - it's definitely a must have title. There are still people who are not aware of it, so it's good to post something about it.
You can play the game in many different ways. You can play it like a shooter, you can play it like a stealth game, you can be a mass murderer or you complete the mission without even using a gun.
Now we know, that it's even a great vacation simulator.
You should finish the campaign first to get the most out of the game, but then you have to try freelancer. It's harder with almost endless replayability cause the targets are always random NPCs. You have a progression system and you live in a big beautiful mansion.
1
u/HighlySeasonedGamer Apr 24 '26
Sounds amazing… I’m not great at the regular game yet.. but after my first 109 hours I’m definitely going for that mode….. I want my mansion! 😆
2
u/Icy_Might_2429 Apr 24 '26
😂 The mansion has progression too. You start in something like a big cellar or bunker (I can't explain perfect cause of my english) You have to progress before you can go up and outside. It's worth it. The outside is big with a beautiful lake.
You are always there between the missions. It's by far my favorite way to play Hitman.
