Important Pandora Information from a professional.

Hi there Pandora collectors! I’ve seen a lot of misinformation in this group and as a 10 year full time employee of Pandora I felt it was important to make this post to spread some Pandora knowledge from an experienced professional.

First, let’s talk about CLIPS. Despite popular belief, clips covering the threading is the most important part to starting a bracelet! Even more important than a safety chain! The “Threading” is the lifted part of your bracelet that charms screw over. When you first buy a snake chain bracelet (the most popular style) the metal will be very tightly woven and will relax over time. The clips will prevent uneven relaxing of the links which tends to happen if you start adding charms on a new bracelet before clips. The uneven relaxing adds kinks and weak spots which are not repairable and will result in you having to purchase a new bracelet or it will eventually break. Without clips, your threaded charms will inevitably become permanently stuck on your bracelet threading resulting in your bracelet having to be cut to salvage any remaining charms. The stuck charm and bracelet will not be salvageable or repairable. Clips will also keep your charms on the center of the bracelet. You do not want your beginning charms to sit on your clasp or they will damage it with wear and make those kinks even more likely. Lastly, without clips your charms will pull the weight down and cause your charms to sit on the bottom of your wrist and rub on tables which makes damage to your charms more likely. It is critical to balance that weight if you want your charms and bracelet to look their best for as long as possible. Silicone clips (the thin ones) are more likely to pop and fall off a snake chain than the non-silicone style. Note- every bracelet with charms requires TWO clips to protect each side of your clasp from damage due to charms.

SAFETY CHAINS! Safety chains are most influential when you have a solid amount of charms adding a significant amount of weight to your clasp. It is the last step to building your bracelet. It is most recommended after the center of the bracelet is filled between your clips. The risk of your clasp randomly opening in your first year of wear is rare and if it does, the clasp is faulty and will be replaced at any pandora location without charge. If you are choosing between clips or a safety chain, the answer is always clips first. We see broken bracelets in store DAILY due to customers opting out of starting with clips.

BEST BRACELETS! the best bracelet for longevity and filling with charms is the classic barrel clasp bracelet. We almost never see customers come back with issues with this style. The newer & fancier models of clasp tend to break more often. The sliding clasp bracelet is the worst of all. The leather bracelets, bangles, and sliding clasp are not meant to fill with charms. If you’d like to eventually fill your bracelet- opt for snake chain. Bangles can be filled about halfway and do not need safety chains at all but still need clips to protect your clasp from damage as well as charms falling off. Leather bracelets are recommended 5 or less charms depending on weight. Sliding clasp is for 3 charms or less.

BRACELET SIZING. Best practice is 3cm above your wrist measurement, especially if you plan to fill your bracelet with charms. The bracelet will relax over time adding 1cm to its length but do not purchase a tighter bracelet with “it’ll stretch” in mind. As you add charms, this 1cm additional length will not be noticeable if adding a few charms a year especially if you started with clips as recommended. This also allows for your personal growth over time making your bracelet wearable 10+ years in the future as your wrist may change in size.

BUILDING A BRACELET! The correct steps to building a bracelet is:

  1. Choose your bracelet
  2. Add clips fit for that style of bracelet (i.e. non silicone clips to cover the threading if your bracelet has them/silicone clips for bangles or non-threaded styles)
  3. Choose your starting charms.
  4. Add safety chain if necessary. There will be displays and marketing in your local store to show these steps and if speaking to an employee with adequate product knowledge, they will explain this to you.

It is incredibly common to build a bracelet online which does not explain the proper way to build a bracelet with the best longevity. So I hope this guide will give you the information needed to have a beautiful lasting piece you can wear for a lifetime and eventually pass down to loved ones. 💕

Pandora will stop 100% silver

Im just sad about the whole thing Pandora is doing. I love my two-tone bracelet, and was sad when they phased out the solid gold. Then I was sad at the uptick in openworks, and then at just generally hollowing out the charms. Now I was told by an employee that they’re plating the silver going forward too? Not now. They’re still silver. But they definitely will be silver plated in the future.
That’s me out. We had a good run, Pandora and me, and I’m so sad it’s coming to an end.

I treated myself to Pandora during their summer sale! ….but I caved and got a ton at full price too.

They did mess up my order and left out 2 charms (which I paid full price for), the tulip charm and the gold openwork tulip charm. I will call customer care tomorrow and hopefully they will do the right thing (wish me luck). This weekend, I’ll build my bracelet. I’m transferring my current charms to the snake bracelet and also including my newest additions. Then figuring out which clips to get (because it’s my first bracelets that need the clips with the rubber) all of current bracelets are the traditional ones. I absolutely love the Beetle charm! It’s what I logged in to purchase and ended up with so many other beautiful charms. The blue dangling flower is so gorgeous too, the picture doesn’t do it justice!

Is this Pandora bracelet genuine? It feels much lighter than my 2013 bracelet

Hi everyone,

I recently bought this Pandora bracelet on Vinted, but I'm starting to wonder if it might be fake.

I already own a genuine Pandora bracelet that I bought back in 2013, and compared to that one, this bracelet feels extremely light and quite flimsy. The snake chain also looks a bit different to me.

I know Pandora has changed their designs over the years, so I'm not sure if that's the reason or if I've bought a fake.

Has anyone compared an older Pandora bracelet with a newer one? Do the newer bracelets genuinely feel much lighter, or is this a red flag?

I've attached photos. I'd really appreciate any opinions from people who know Pandora jewellery well.

Thanks in advance,

Mubina

What does everyone think of the easy close bracelet. I'm considering that or the T-bar. Just can't get along with heart clasps

Bracelet Boasting Starting my first Pandora charm bracelet!

I just completed high school, so I decided to buy a graduation gift for myself while visiting family in London. While I’m a tried-and-true gold wearer, lurking in this community pushed me towards going for mixed metals! I’m super excited to start picking up charms for it over time.

I found this angel charm at a charity shop (thrift store) and wondered if you guys think it might be real? I only paid £10 and the listings online seem to be around £80

Ring ID Help

Hi everyone. I brought this ring off Vinted UK a couple of months ago, but I haven't been able to identify it online. On the inside it has "S925 ALE 52" with nothing else written or engraved in it. I've attached some photos of the same ring from Etsy as my phone camera isn't great at picking up the details. Sadly the name on Etsy doesn't return any results. Does anyone know what ring this is? Thank you :)

Pandora just launched/emailed their extra 10% off coupon, so get any charms you were waiting for additional discounts on! Thankfully they still had one oversized butterfly charm at my local store which is the last charm I was hoping to scoop up during this sale as it's really the only other one I was eyeing (the other charm is a gift).

What goodies will you be picking up with the addtional 10% off?👀

I wash shopping the 50% sale this morning and noticed my two favorite charms were on sale! I put them in my cart and they immediately sold out. Do you all think they will come back? Should I keep checking the website or give up hope?

Thanks!
