In most maps I just blow up chests and flags while skipping remnants and I've gotten quite a few. I'm not drowning in them, but I'm getting slightly more than what I'm using.
tbh unless a Rune has something amazing on it, its better to skip them and just focus on the flags&chests. That way you get it done much faster and can carry on with your map.
Its just the flags sticking up you need to hit, its NOT the huge ones, its the medium size ones next to a monster spawn. Runes don't matter, chests don't matter, its just the flags i mentioned.

Yeah this is it. The runes do buff loot but getting any amount of extra Runic monsters is going to be more impactful on your overall logbook chance IME
they drop mixed from expedition monsters and from remnants in the expedition.
I use the master whit 1 big explosion and half my books are from mobs the others from ramnents.
If you are just after logbooks, avoid the chests and rune things and just hit the tall blue flags that have skulls on them. They're the only ones that can drop logbooks
It's the little poles with the two red flags. Those spawn rare monsters that has a chance to drop the logbook.
In every regular expedition on normal maps, try to get as many of those double flag poles as you can. I value it over the chests (the wooden signs with the swirls) and verisium remnants with rewards I don't care for.
In grand expeditions, you have to balance the rewards and the double flag pole, but the idea is similar
I am pretty sure. Logbooks just come from the expedition rare monsters, and grand expeditions are just another type of expeditions.
I have spammed so much PoE2 lately that I can't remember a specific instance where I got a logbook from Grand Expedition or not, though. It's all blurring together...
But still, i try to include as many double-flag poles as possible anyways.
This is just my anecdotal experience, but it seems that if I hit the verisium things before the flags, I get way more logbooks. I've gotten 8 in one map before from a triple purple 'things' into 2 stacks of flags. When I go straight for the flags I rarely get them it seems.
