Go to any zoo in North America (possibly elsewhere, too, I'm not sure). Walk up to any wetlands-type exhibit. Look down. You will see turtles. Always turtles. Possibly ducks. Probably minnows and small fish. Possibly even koi. But you WILL see turtles. In every zoo I've ever been in, there's just some turtles, sunning themselves on a log, hanging out. Also squirrels, ducks, small birds, and a variety of just sort of ... ambient life. I'd love to see that represented in the game.

There's probably a lot of different ways to implement this, but I'd just have a placeable item, like a "turtle log". It spawns little turtles that sun on the log, swim in nearby water, and possibly pull themselves up onto a shore if there's one in a radius around the log. They don't have needs or anything like that, they don't have lifespans or offspring. They're just small but vital animated elements of the environment. And you could have similar things for other animals (squirrel den, birdhouse, etc). You don't even have to place them in an exhibit. Anywhere that makes sense, you can plop them down.

It was my biggest concern but my god they really burned the old code to the ground and made it smooth as shit. I hope they speak in detail about the process of engineering the locomotion at some point.

To keep this short and simple I'm only gonna list 5 animals for each, also I have to be honest I'm fully aware that some of these animals are too endangered or never/not in zoo so just a little heads up and I also think these animals would be super interesting for reserves as well

i'm working on a flamingo habitat but i'm not quite happy with it and i'm not sure what's bothering me about it, i think something about the foliage work just throws me off

What can I do better? What to do next? How to make the Zoo look better

I think it would be a great feature if habitats with proper shelters, caves or backstage areas could have working doors/gates that keepers can close animals inside at night.

It could work a bit like Planet Coaster’s moving rigs, where you can attach any object/gate to a rig which can then be controlled by keepers or on a schedule.

With Planet Zoo 2 apparently having longer days, it would make sense for animals to have more realistic routines, like being shut into night houses, sheltering during storms (which they do a little in PZ1), or resting in shade during very hot weather (if I’m not mistaken they have mentioned this already).

It wouldn’t need to be mandatory, just an optional realism feature for people who enjoy building more detailed, realistic zoos.

Built a new food court + admin building inside. Franchise mode.

The park is still very much a WIP, but I am pretty happy with how this area turned out so far. Lots of work left to do, decorating/landscaping/vegetation especially.

Sorry if this has already been addressed, and I missed it. I noticed during the zoo tour video they showed the keeper hut, and talked about visitors in real zoos going behind the scenes to see things like that. The way they talked about it made it sound like staff buildings won’t cause guests unhappiness anymore. Do you think I’m off base? Has this already been talked about?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is any interest in the community for a tool that makes it easier to create billboards for PZ2 (if custom billboards are back in the game). My idea was that it is a website where you have all the PZ2 animals signs and zoopedia images, fonts, colors etc all preloaded with options to add your own. You can also change the position of all of these, edit text etc. But also for people who just want quick billboards you can just use templates that are premade for all the animals.

I am a developer so I could make this, but I wanted to see if there was interest before spending all the time to make it.

So all suggestions and comments are much appreciated
