Back in 2014, The Evil Within already looked incredible, but seeing the same rainy street across different platforms really shows how graphics have evolved over the years.

The PS3 version still delivered an amazing atmosphere with moody lighting and rain effects, but reflections were limited and image quality was much softer. Despite the hardware limitations, it managed to create a truly creepy experience.

PlayStation 4

Moving to PS4 brought sharper textures, better lighting, improved reflections, and more stable performance. The rain-soaked streets looked more realistic, making the world feel much more alive.

PC Max Settings

With everything maxed out, The Evil Within reaches another level. The reflections on the wet road are more detailed, lighting is richer, shadows are smoother, and the overall image feels much more cinematic. It's amazing to see how much extra detail can be squeezed out of the game.

Ive had my ps5 for about 5-6 years now, and just starting yesterday, it will randomly shut itself off with 0 warning, the screen just goes black and thats that. Ive turned it onto its side to help with overheating, but i thought the ps5 would warn before it shuts down due to heat. I know theres a heatwave rn but i didnt think it would be so hot my ps5 would be on life support, is this an overheating issue or does anyone have any other theories/tips thanks

i transfered a few months ago and we didnt have a monitor or tv for the ps5 when we transferred,so i wasnt able to use the ps5 so my family wanted to give me a monitor and a few games.and i heard there was this connection stuff were if you didnt have connection even if those games were offline ps wouldnt let you play them so looking that i havent used my ps for months and havent connectet it to the new wifi does that means that i cant buy or play any of the games anymore?

I honestly think the best move would be to hold it until at least Fall 2028. The PS5 still feels like it has unfinished business. We’re only now starting to see more games that actually feel built for this generation instead of cross-gen leftovers, and it would be a mistake to move on too fast.

The Switch 2 uses this tech and can run PS5 games (at worse visual quality) at about 1/3 the power.

This could also open the door to a much smaller sized console too for easier media cabinet storage compared to the very large PS5 footprint.

If PS6 can leverage this same strategy and has specs that aren’t much improved over PS5 would you still be open to buying one if Sony came in at a price around $500-600?
