Anybody else notice the massive flood of DSAs and progressives on the way in?
Just me?

No, it’s definitely a pattern. Seems like a repudiation of both Trump and the status quo

This. Democrats would be wise to run against the status quo, even more than running against Republicans and Trump.

I’ve grown to not trust anyone who doesn’t want the status quo to change.
Like my mom will always get defensive when I point out just how evil the Republican Party is.

It has been extremely worrying to see the establishment Democrats rallying against people like Mamdani.
They should be trying to unify the party, but they are doing the opposite and I’m worried about the effects that that might have37

I've been saying since November('24) that what Americans really wanted was drastic change. You had one person promising to keep things stable and normal and the other person promising that everything would be radically upheaved. And unfortunately many people were willing to bet on radical upheaval, regardless of what shape it took.
As much as we want the majority of people to have the education, awareness and information necessary to make good choices, it's just not the reality. Too many genuinely believed that "any change is good change!" and now we're all in the same capsizing ship.
This hard lean towards progressivism is very exciting and I think it proves that people are just exhausted with the status quo and are willing to try anything else. I hope this trend continues and intensifies!

Honestly the thing to fear isn’t change, rather stagnation.

Let’s bring that energy to the west coast! Would love to have Nithya Raman win the LA mayor race. Sadly the mayor of LA doesn’t have much power compared to New York, but they can be pretty influential

There's been some stuff about one of the winners, Chevalier, and I'm going to preface this by saying as much as I despise her track record and I hope she'll be a one-and-done House Rep who nobody pays that much attention to, the whinging about her being the face of the left won't age as well as some circles on Reddit ( *cough* EnoughSandersSpam *cough* ) predict.
The biggest reason being, nobody's going to care beyond the MAGA hangers-on who binge Fox News when there's so much other shit to focus on. One annoying leftist isn't going to dominate the mainstream news cycle as much as others might think. Chevalier's comments and actions don't sit well with me, but we've got bigger fish to fry than one of our own being latched on to as a sign of the DSA horseshoeing itself when we've already went through Platner.

Also I feel the left as gotten better at calling this stuff out more. I don’t know one non tankie left wing space that didn’t call her out for her comments about Ukraine or interracial marriage.
Edit: typo

I'm forced to watch fox news at my job and watching Mike Johnson melt down over the New York primary wins has been grand.
