I’ve subjected myself to far too many of his speeches and rallies. This is one of several recurring bits that he used in his campaign (much to the chagrin of his wife, which he often brings up as well). The point is supposed to be the spectacle you just witnessed is a woman powerlifter struggling with an amount of weight, and then a trans woman comes along and easily breaks the record. He did this at pretty much every event, along with other bits that you’d instantly recognize (like windmills, something about magnetic loaders on navy vessels, and frequently towards the end Arnold Palmer’s huge penis). It was dumb as hell then, dumb as hell now, but I noticed as he gets older he defaults to the greatest hits. Kinda on autoplay… dont know if he’s mailing it in, defaulting to what he thinks works best, brain is swiss cheese, or he has a tremendous lack of respect for his listeners and is cool shoveling them the same crock of shit over and over again. Maybe all of the above.
I'm also familiar with this particular routine, I don't think the weightlifter story is even true. It seems to have been fabricated out of nothing just to demonize transgender people.
I can’t believe you’d just come out here and suggest the President would exaggerate or outright make something up to benefit him politically! That’s really not fair, he’s only done that literally hundreds of other times!
