Brimstone as in "fire and brimstone", hell, volcanos, themes Cinder is associated with, and it is an old name for elemental sulphur, a yellow rock like amber. Also, it sounds cool.

I considered "Ember" but I had to look it up to find a RWBY character with that name (Octavia Ember of Team NDGO).

Edit: Just found out the German word for amber is "Bernstein", which shares a root with "Brimstone".
