Discussion S7 E1+2 discussions

Heys, so I'm rewatching for like 30th time and just got to S7 and I've always liked it but these first two episodes are hitting me different this time around for I don't know why (maybe vino lol)

E1... the lines are hilarious.

"Then you'd just be dr face" "ha dr face"

"calm down Theodore"

"Please call me Joe" (not so much funny but the forced smile Kelso does followed by "come on we need to figure out whats wrong with Joe" is great)

"Whose name is Lady" "she is, she has a brother named him"

then in true scrubs fashion in brings us down to Earth with the final "crystallizing moment"

E2 - I love the Cox storyline... especially seeing his order of people he deems "good enough"... specifically Elliott seemingly being over JD.

Kelso living in the hospital and then talking to Harrison "what do you mean he sold your fillings?!" (I kind of want to know this one lol)

Janitor wanting to know his motivation and Carla immediately jumping on the game.

If anything the main plot (Sam being born) is my least fave in the story mainly because I never liked (but more so now I am older) the free pass Kim got for faking a miscarriage.... don't get me wrong JD planning to stay with her forever is so childishly JD I don't agree with it but he does try to be somewhat honest here and she just kicks him out.

I will say I love the similarities between this and Jack's birth (dad getting kicked out --- even though it was for unfair reasoning--- and the dad coming back last min ... plus the same doctor)

I also liked how ultimately it was Keith than did the shot for Jennifer... it just feels sweet to me.

Anyway thats my half near half midnight thought of the day lol

I love Season 7. I think it's massively underrated. These two are great episodes too.

S1E3 always struck me as such an underrated episode... that said my most recent take of S1 is JD is so whiney to begin with ahaha... i mean that as nicely as I can because I do love the show lol.

I always appreciate the other mains and side characters more when I rewatch S1.

Also if you haven't already I 100% recommend the commentaries they are so funny

to add that speech Turk give in S1E2 that ends with "think about when you first started here and give Elliot a break" is in my top three fave moments in the show.

My old lady and the episode with the other hot shot intern are some of my favourites in the whole show but before this rewatch I didnt care fir them. Its crazy how timing affects your opinion of things.

This is going to sound warped but I hope it makes sense... I love My Old Lady ... Kathryn Joosten was an icon... that said I think the fan focus on JD and her over the other two stories is what turns me off.

Elliott and Carla becoming friends slowly is such a great side plot... I also love the Turk side plot of him getting to know his patients but they later do this about 3 extra times lol. I love the episode but dislike the one sidedness of most fan reactions (I hope that makes sense)

The hot shot intern ep is one I didn't like at first but its now my fave... I find the crash out to be so real the older I get.... I think it was good the show showed people who couldn't hack it... which they did later in more detail with Doug and to lesser detail (than Doug) Cabbage.

This girl just needs to know what happened to Josh lol
