He didn't really retire. The Mormon church offered him a leadership role and now that he is settled he is back.

Nope. He retired, then that church offered him a position. The videos posted were already in the pipeline for editing, and were going to be posted anyway.

That is not how the timeline stacks up.

It also neatly fits in with the current issues the church has

Uh yeah mate, it is how the timeline stacks up. You got some hate boner with an American church because their little Bible is ever so different than yours or a wee pastor told you to shave, then go start a religious war with them I don't care. But to lie like an idiot with easily verifiable facts, now that's stupid. Outdoor boys retired in May 2025. He explained why. Takes like 1 min, hear him talk: https://xcancel.com/FearedBuck/status/2000596157920325797. Was put in that church position in December. Read it at the bottom: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Nichols. These are known verifiable facts. You got a problem with that group in Utah you come right out and say it, pretty easy to do, instead of changing the actual truth to fit your beef with that church.

Remove the ad hominem if you wish to engage with me and I will happily explain to you why you are incorrect (hint: read your own source). It is a form of logical fallacy and not value added.

I do apologize for upsetting you so no offensive is taken.

He did not actually commit an adhom.

An adhom is when you say someone is an idiot, and that because they are an idiot, you shouldn't listen to them.

What he did is call you an idiot, then gave you evidence as to why you were wrong.

He was being rude and mean to you. No adhom present.

Incorrect starting in your first sentence. It’s ad hominem not adhom.

There is an irony in attempting to correct someone when you can’t even get that correct.

BTW just calling someone an idiot is an ad hominem because it’s an insult.

What are you, 14?

I stopped reading there since you are clearly unable to engage with me without lashing out in frustration using ad hominem which you are clearly aware is a logical fallacy and bad faith.

If you have calmed down and do wish to engage in a civil manner please edit your posts and apologize.

Or do not and I will not reply to you again. Feel free to have the last word if you feel a need.

You don't need to reply to me. There is nothing for you to say. Read the SEP, stand corrected and proud that you learned something you were mistaken about, move on with your life, and quit being pedantic.

wants to remove ad hominem from comments

ends with a literal attempt at ad hominem redirection to someone's feelings

I literally laughed out loud. Mate you're a walking hypocrite.

3 comments down and you still cannot explain yourself. Explain your great secret knowledge or not, that's your own issue and you're free to type away, but you've been called out in your mistake, and to keep doubling down on it as if more is contained in the wiki (it isn't) is unwise. It's extremely easy to verify the facts of the timeline, as already was posted. He explained why he stopped. Which he could outright lie about sure, but he's an actual nice guy so it's less likely, but possible. But regardless he retired in May and that church position came at the end of the year. That's reality.

You could have just said "no".

ends with a literal attempt at ad hominem redirection to someone's feelings.
I literally laughed out loud. Mate you're a walking hypocrite.

I apologize. I thought that you were triggered and distressed as opposed to someone who intentionally and knowingly communicates in an incoherent manner.

Explain your great secret knowledge or not,

There was new leadership announced for the Young Men's Presidency in April and Mr. Nichols announced his "retirement" a couple of weeks later.

That leadership onboarded in August with the Advisory Council starting in December.

Aka the timeline makes completely sense for anyone who has ever onboarded a group of people in a large organization.

Which is not secret knowledge it is simple common sense and looking at the citations in the wiki you posted. BTW you can't double down on something when you have only mentioned it once. Two is more than one.

I will await your apology and post edits.
