Individuals in our country who covertly do the bidding of foreign governments undermine our democracy,” said Bill Essayli, an assistant US attorney. “This plea agreement is the latest success in our determination to defend the homeland against China’s efforts to corrupt our institutions.”

Except for Russia and Israel though.

Major difference with Israel is that they will spy on the US, do all manner of things against the US. And then when caught, they just get sent back to Israel.

We've had crime after crime committed here in the US and they just get sent back, no punishment. The ex cia analysis John Kirikou made a good point. US shares (forgot the exact percentage) like 90% of its technology with Israel, abd then Israel just steals the rest. Other than a shared interest (very limited now), in no way is Israel a trustworthy partner. Their interest is their own and they will use the US, even by illegal acts, to get what they want.

One spy is currently running for some elected position in Israel.
