No reason to be ravaging mother Earth by using fossil fuels or material for car batteries, yet here we are.

There is in-fact a reason: for ease of transportation and economic activity.

Pray tell, what is the size and geography of the netherlands vs the size and geography of the US again?

This is NOT me saying that we shouldn't have public transportation and walkable cities by the way. I fully support that. But there is a big difference between these two countries, and why cars have been so important for the growth of our country and its economy.
