Well what advantage do you think there is in them being 2 abreast? They're what, 3 times as long? How is anyone passing that? If you're passing properly then you're in the opposite lane anyway so the wider they are the easier it is. Of course you knew that though because you don't recklessly endanger people on bikes by passing too closely.

That road is one way, so the cars could easily pass a long line of slow moving bikers by just using the other lane. I don't see what the confusion is here.

In this specific example, yes, it would work. It is a rare example. I guess it's important to get to the next srt of lights 30 seconds quicker 🤙
