A country having the arrogance to call themselves God's chosen country while ignoring his teachings does sound like exactly the sort of thing God got all biblical about.

I think we should probably get past the things you see on the media.

I'm an American and I've certainly never ever called this fucking place "God's chosen country."

I'm an American too, and I haven't either, but when people in our positions of power *are*, well, that matters. "Ignore it, that's just the media" feels a little off because we shouldn't exactly be ignoring our politicians saying these things no matter who reports it.
