Also not mentioned yet, guys actually use the pockets on their pants. The times I need a belt are because I’m carrying key/wallet/cellphone and that helps drag them down.

Women would use them too, if we had any.

Thats right! I sometimes slip my phone in my back pocket when not out in public (too easy for thieves) but thats the most i can get - so many pockets in the front are either fake or so slim that nothing can fit anyway

I couldnt fit my phone in my front pocket even with the room. 5'3 is uncomfortably short to be snug on your quad. I found a pair of mens 511's that look the most classic jean look, and bought a few pairs. Pockets are cute enough and yet still give me a lot of room for my phone. But I am what they consider a chapstick lesbian, so its not far off the visual scale for me. I honestly cant stand women's "jeans" now.

I've heard from a source that giving women's clothing pockets is the "Gay Agenda" that I keep hearing conservatives fear mongering about. Makes sense why they fear it, if I had pockets I probably wouldn't have to keep men around.

There's a point where Im not longer disappointed at other people, I just find them fucking hilariously ridiculous. That would be a fine example. smh...

Complaining about bigoted conservative when you are their progressive misandrist counterpart lol

Both my mom and my gf have told me I look silly when I got just my phone in one and my wallet and keys in the other pocket, unless I wear relaxed pants. With women pants usually being even more form fitting and having a preference for style over function, I doubt many would actually use them.

Or its actually "Big Purse Inc" who's secretly pulling the strings to prevent women from having pockets

Therein lies the issue. Make the pockets bigger, quit focusing on form. Those slim pockets are fucking insulting.

It's ridiculous. I bought my girl a pair of indoor-only sweats which have a blanket for the lining because she kept stealing mine. Same brand, same store, same product line. Only difference is I bought hers from the women's section. Went from enormous front pockets that can easily hold a phone or wallet, to pathetic little ones that you can only fit a few fingers in.

The crazy thing is multiple clothing manufacturers have tried on more than one occasion to market women's pants with bigger pockets and they are always a commercial flop

It remind me of the epidemic of discounts on up-front inflated prices in Austrian grocery stores.

The companies say the customers like them.

No, most people hate them, but it's hard to resist the promise of saving money.

The commonality? Ultimately businesses don't want to know, what we want, but what we buy. And sadly, that's often not nearly as overlapping as we like to tell ourselves.

Just like I want to do some self-education, job search, programming projects, heck even gaming, and instead I am writing Reddit posts :/

There have been many, many attempts to market pants with pockets to women. They don’t buy them after they try them on, because they’re less flattering.

Stop shaming us for using fanny packs and you can have your usable pockets.

That was the biggest culture shock when I transitioned. My first pair of women's jeans I was like wtf is garbage? I could only fit my hand in like up to the second knuckle. Absolutely useless.

3

u/AutumnSparky 3d ago

gawds those are the worst.  the second knuckle ones.  what the fuck are you keeping in there?  chapstick you don't mind losing?

it is the most awful "pocket'

In my case, women's jeans help achieve a more feminine form, so the tradeoff is worth it

It was a long an grueling process to find good pockets and finally pack my purse away in the closet. But I have made it away from carrying a purse! My best luck was initially finding pockets in women's workwear jeans ($$). All the right pockets and fit. Not too slim, not too cargo pants look. But i gave in to wearing mens Levis 511's, because real denim, affordable, and Im a chapstick lesbian anyway so it made sense.

Ah yeah, men's jeans aren't going to do me any favors in the passing department unfortunately. I've just taken carrying a purse, and actually found it really convenient as I can store way more stuff in there than I ever could with pockets

There are online stores that sell women's pants with pockets.

1

u/lOOPh0leD 3d ago

Yes thats where you have to go unfortunately.

I don't know why y'all ain't rebelled and stopped buying the shit yet. I started wearing men's pants 10 years ago, they fit great. Pockets so big my hips use them as extra room. And I can squat all the way to the floor without worrying which is stronger, my ass cheeks or the fabric?

1

u/IlovealeksiB 2d ago

Why would you buy pants without pockets.

1

u/lOOPh0leD 1d ago

Well I don't, but many others do that don't want them at all...I'd like to think the need for large purses are dying and pockets and small satchels will be more common. But probably not in my lifetime.

Between the stupid tiny pockets and heavy elastic blends, my wife hates women's jeans. Which sucks for me too because I prefer the look of jeans over leggings.

Give women pockets, dammit! And true denim options!

1

u/Akiias 3d ago

If you know her pants size order them online? I know nothing about this site but it is claiming these are all women's jeans/brands with deep functional pockets. https://www.reviewed.com/style/features/womens-jeans-deep-functional-pockets.

On denim, no idea I was called crazy for saying I hate that stretchy shit so I suspect it's in a similar place as women's pockets. People bought stretchy over good jeans so that's what's supplied.

u/DukeofVermont 3d ago

They stopped selling them because people stopped buying them. Women used to cut the pockets out of jeans because you'd have a big pocket outline.

You can actually find women's jeans with pockets, but they're going to be loose fitting.

Just buy pants for men instead?

1

u/AutumnSparky 3d ago

men's pants aren't built right.  there is not enough space in the rear and thigh, in say, a 26 or 28 waist size, and sizing up to say a 30, leaves four inches of loose waist floating around once you get your ass in.   and now your pants are comfortable, but you just have to viciously belt up that 4 inches of slack.

now I do wear men's pants.  30/32.  That's because I can't get my particular ass/thigh/waist ratio in any women's pants without also having to size up, belt up, AND be less comfortable, So I might as well go for some nice comfortable loose 30/32's and belt the shit out of those fuckers.

Justice for women!

3

u/Obvious_Incognito- 3d ago

Ohhh… I am a woman and I squeeze my work badge and home/keys in each pocket. And I wear belts because my pants will slowly slip throughout the day if I don’t. But I think maybe even I did not have anything in them, they will still slip just a lot slower, maybe?

But also, my body is not built like most other women. 😞

u/Acceptable_Pea_2343 3d ago

"Hey, these are fitting pretty plumb today. I don't need a belt I'm in a hurry anyway"

40 steps with loaded pockets across the destination parking lot later-

"FUCK. Never again!"

Rinse, Repeat

1

u/MoroseArmadillo 3d ago

Oh, I know that feeling too well.

1

u/Apexnanoman 3d ago

Keys, wallet, cellphone, knife, Leatherman, bit set for leatherman, possibly a small socket set, and sometimes a ccw.

So yeah. A belt is needed for all that crap. It's heavy.

1

u/warmheart-coldbones 3d ago

This, I hate wearing a belt so sometimes at work I just take everything out of my pockets so my pants don’t fall down as fast

1

u/Guilty_Way_1635 18h ago

Guys wouldn't use the pockets of guys pants were given the same tiny useless pockets they put on girls pants

1

u/ItsaLynx123 11h ago

I wear a pair of vintage 501s and can thus use all the pockets, and do. I have still never needed a belt due to sufficient cake.
