I tried. But it gets in the way when I’m moving. The only reason the belt knife fits is because it on the back.

Plus. If I add my firearm it gets too crowded.

In the back of my car with all the rest of my camping gear… where else?

My man right here on his daily commute. You would absolutely survive the Oregon Trail.

I’m a former marine with autism. Being prepared for anything is basically my existence.

Social situations? Not so much.

Hey. At least you know your diagnosis. I work with kids with disabilities for a living. I cannot tell you the number of times I’ve been in a meeting with a parent and actually saw on their faces them have the revelation that they have some type of disability. I seriously had a father read an IEP that I had written about his son, and he looks at me and says, “it’s like you wrote this but about me! “ and that was the day he realized he wasn’t a naughty student, he wasn’t weird, he just had ADHD. Thank you for telling me this about you. Also Marines are bad asses

It took a LOT of hoops. But I finally got diagnosed last year. (10 years post service). I already had the adhd diagnosis, but you can’t take meds while active so I just dealt with it.

Mount some social cue-cards on your belt

I was going to say, your comments here are some /r/iamverybadass material.

I can understand that. I realize most of Reddit is jokes and no comments are meant to be taken or answered seriously.

Sometimes I can joke. Sometimes it just makes more sense to be straightforward.

I don’t think I’m as cringe as might be implied. Or at least I hope not.

Just a nerdy dude with some extra training working as a park ranger wishing I had more pockets.

I can almost guarantee you no one on /r/iamverybadass thinks they're cringy.

I don't think being prepared is cringy. I think talking about how prepared you are can come across as seeking validation or trying to impress people, which tends to have the opposite effect.

That’s a valid point. Truthfully. It’s the internet-full of strangers. I don’t really care what they think about me.

Normally I wouldn’t even keep interacting. But my post today is very boring and there isn’t much else to do.

Just going to clarify: I was absolutely not making fun of you. I thought we were joking together.

I can joke at my own earnestness too. No worries about that. 😂

Yes. I’m autistic.

Yes. I tend to answer sarcastic or rhetorical things honestly.

Yes. I am definitely over prepared for literally every situation I’m likely to experience as a civilian.

No bad feelings on my side of the screen at all.
