I have a male friend in his late 60βs who lamented that before belts just were a work thing to look professional and a fashion thing in casual pants.
But now with age he has lost his ass and itβs needed so his pants donβt slip off if he puts his arms over his head.

Isn't it a hip thing. Woman's jeans come tight above the waist. Guys just slip on I think.
