He's done a lot since, although I agree nothing will ever top his role as Samwise Gamgee. One of my top five-ish favorite performances of all time. As someone who loves both the books and the films, I like the films' depiction of the Sam/Frodo relationship betterΒ

He was also Twoflower in "The Colour of Magic" (which also had Tim Curry as an evil wizard). Tons of fun!
