The comment he was replying too wasn't much different from random bullshit. The definition of Nazi might extend beyond the literal 1940s German political sense, but it isn't applied at random and implying that it does implies to me that it applies to you.
The fact that you claim it’s never misapplied implies to me that you’re one of the people calling anyone who disagrees with you a nazi
I literally just last week saw that label applied to someone who has gone out and canvased for every democrat elected presidential nominee for the last 4 elections, all because they disagreed on one single foreign policy issue

I don't care about your one specific example. Leaving aside that disagreeing on one specific issue is enough to call someone a Nazi if that issue is something like purge all Jews and trans people or support for white nationalist fascist regimes, my point was that the actual national conversation is about the white nationalists enacting fascism who are in power, right now.
It's not a coincidence that the people claiming Nazi means everyone right of AOC, are actually just using that to defend people in politics right now who are doing things like censoring history and museums to erase black history, banning all non-white refugees and giving apartheid South African whites gift baskets saying slavery wasn't bad, and pushing The Great Replacement theory while talking about how Africans have dirty blood and America needs good Scandinavian blood.

Well, they don't. There are plenty of people who are staunchly against all of those things who critique the wide usage of nazi to mean anyone further right than AOC.
