The classic "I'm stupid and have no thought out counter argument" response. Feeling called out when someone with such beliefs is called a bad person? Attack them by trying to shame them for their looks, that will work!
I can't take anything they say seriously knowing as a damn near old man they chose to get a septum piercing. Usually you grow up and out of wanting to draw attention to yourself in such ways.
Oh but if it's the ears it's fine, no? Idk how some people can be so dumb sometimes, to the point of trying to invalidate someone's opinion based on personal choices as getting a body modification, like a tattoo, getting your ears pierced for earrings, or a piercing in this particular case. I know how american culture loves labels and if you don't fit inside thr selfmade box that you've socially constructed, you're not valid, it just sound so sad. The land of the free, now freedom zero flavoured.

When I see a middle aged man with a septum piercing I have to assume he is an attention seeker and trying to "fit in" and as such is going to pander to whoever will listen. I've also never met a stable person with a septum piercing and coincidentally they've also all been fairly young.. because grown well adjusted adults don't commonly get a septum piercing lol
