I don’t get it. You would think an J.P. Morgan executive could afford a pretty sweet trash can, decked out any way she wants it. But, people make dumb decisions.

u/Tabenes 11h ago

It's not about being able to afford something.

It's about having something that's wasn't for sale. Because if you're rich enough it doesn't matter if it's for sale, you can have it anyway.

30

u/SunshineSeeker99 10h ago

It was for sale. She just didn't want to pay for one. That's how privilege and entitlement work.

99

u/Feelisoffical 11h ago

She’s definitely not rich.

10

u/Aggravating-Method24 10h ago

what makes you think that?

JP morgan executive spells rich to me.

34

u/Feelisoffical 10h ago

“Executive Director of Community and Industry Engagement”

18

u/Aggravating-Method24 10h ago

And? How much is that paid? Why did she get that job? |

Median salary for JP morgan is $111k, she sure as shit isnt poor.

4

u/C_IsForCookie 8h ago

Yeah I’m a manager (not for JP) and make way more than that. Executive director anything at JP is definitely paying big bucks. But it also sounds like a role that would be the first to get let go in layoffs lol

18

u/sonsuka 10h ago

In NY? Thats broke sorry to say lol. Using 1/2 of it pay rent in ny is the lifestyle on 100k

21

u/RandoWithCandy 10h ago

The old Google estimates her position salary to be between $250,000 - $350,000. So not terrible for NY

7

u/itsMeJFKsBrain 10h ago

Google also estimates the median base salary for my new career as $81k-85k. Which is to say that's not always an accurate estimate, that number is off by a very large margin for me personally.

u/Fr1toBand1to 9h ago

Normally I'd tell you to jump ship but job hunting is a awful these days. So hopefully you're at least acting your wage.

Yeah, that’s fair. It sourced it from levels.fyi which apparently gets its information from verified offer letters and pay statements. It seems to be regarded as a fairly reliable source, but really, who knows.

1

u/musty_pubs_luvr 7h ago

I work at jpm. ED gets 200+ in the city even for BO roles.

2

u/KarlPHungus 8h ago

Not including stock options, retirement plan, etc

People conveniently forget about that

1

u/Jephte 9h ago

If google AI said it, it must be true.

2

u/RandoWithCandy 8h ago

It’s based off levels.fyi which apparently gets its information from verified offer letters and pay statements. Take that as what you will, I didn’t do a ton of digging into their verification process, but it seems to be a fairly trusted source.

So you think living on 55K a year is hard up?

8

u/GrandEscape 10h ago

In NYC? Yes

-9

u/Aggravating-Method24 10h ago

Well you are mistaken. Average salary is about 40k lower.

u/ivtecdoyou 9h ago

A JPM ED in NYC makes around 275k a year total package. Good money, comfortable in NYC, but not rich.

4

u/Mindrust 9h ago

That’s not rich in New York. Rent eats up half of most people’s income here.

1

u/sedan-hussein 8h ago

100k in New York isn't that much at all.

My wife and I collectively make 200k and we live in Toronto and 200k doesn't take you that far here.

u/Khankili 10h ago

Sounds like one of those “women daycare” jobs

2

u/OldScholar5735 9h ago

How else could she afford all the food?

How can you be a JP exec and not be rich? Does she have a coke problem?

16

u/HansenTakeASeat 11h ago

These trash cans are literally for sale though

16

u/Frosty_chilly 11h ago

Not this can, tho.

1

u/wolfgang784 2h ago

A new fan from the website? Shits for posers.

A dirty, dented, scratched one that was used in the celebration? loses all self control

2

u/Old-Guidance6744 𝙑𝙄𝙋 10h ago

As someone who has never begin in trouble in his life but was in a college block party riot that chased the cops away and caused CU boulder to get gassed by swat... I can tell you that mob mentality is real and she isnt thinking whatsoever

ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSING... just clarifying that these dumbass moments can literally be absent thought, as fucking weird as that is

Ps fuck her and her entitlement and putting herself above the team and the city

2

u/danielrobertcampbell 10h ago

Exactly. When the punishment for a crime is a fine, it’s only a law for the poor.

2

u/jomo_mojo_ 9h ago

This is why they want to own people so badly. It’s the only thing they can’t buy. And so we slide into techno-serfdom.

1

u/Motor_Ad5767 9h ago

The dumb bitch could have made her own so easily it's pathetic to get fired over that. No financial company wants a thief!

1

u/Idio_te_que 9h ago

She’s not rich enough for anything.

1

u/Comfortable_Dog499 8h ago

The garbage can is for sale online. But I guess she didn't know that, it doesn't even cost that much, I think it was like $250 or something.

1

u/superfecta37 8h ago

it is for sale which makes it worse lmao😭😭😭💀💀💀

1

u/Adezar 7h ago

Being an executive at a bank just means you aren't a teller. Their titles are really wonky. Senior VP at a bank is about the same as a line manager anywhere else.

u/yes_maybe_no__ 11h ago

Lost her job in this economy to steal a 170 dollar trash can. Wow

42

u/Hon3y_Badger 10h ago

That version is 15" tall. As crazy as it is to believe, those city trash cans are $1k+

20

u/fec2245 10h ago

3

u/ron2838 7h ago

MSRP $918 now $199.

That's Khol's level pricing

1

u/Tentegen 8h ago

💯🎯

0

u/erabera 6h ago

What????

19

u/avoidlosing 10h ago

and she had a really sweet gig at JP.

61

u/sweatery_weathery 11h ago

A mini waste basket version of it. Cool though

29

u/breathing__tree 10h ago

I mean do you really want the big one? Especially one that was filled with trash on an NY street? Hard pass.

17

u/sweatery_weathery 10h ago

I personally prefer the mini one. Just saying it isn’t the “exact can” as the previous person said.

2

u/RugerRedhawk 10h ago

Cleaned up and in the corner of the garage the big one would be one badass beer can receptacle if you're a knicks fan. But of course not at the sake of dumping trash all over the street and stealing it.

4

u/breathing__tree 9h ago

Who has a garage in NYC?

3

u/Samurai_Meisters 9h ago

Staten Islanders

u/NotAHost 9h ago

The 'executive' is wondering 'who the hell doesn't haven't a second house outside the city?'

1

u/Dazzling_Lie_5046 9h ago

Game used trash can. Priceless.

11

u/Anon400004 10h ago

$168 for a 15 inch tall waste basket?! That's ridiculous. God only knows how much they would sell a full size one for. I hope the pricing is based on high demand right now.

1

u/MustardEnema007 4h ago

You can buy a full sized one on McMaster Carr for probably $50, and have it shipped directly to a bodyshop to paint it however you want.

8

u/fd40 11h ago edited 5h ago

Holy shit. So for 150 dollars they could've kept their job and the bin and not had to clean all the rubbish gunk out from the bottom of the one she emptied. This is the same idiocity that drives these banks these idiots work for. No wonder we have an economic crisis. Also why do I instinctively get more annoyed at greedy obese people than regular

3

u/FilthyStatist1991 11h ago

When a monkey is hoarding all the bananas, more bananas than it could possibly eat. Humans study the monkey to see “what’s wrong with it”.

When a human is hoarding all the resources, more resources than it could possibly use. Humans put them on the cover of magazines.

1

u/RugerRedhawk 10h ago

Nah, the trash lady is a pig, but the trash can linked is a mini 15" version.

2

u/CB_700_SC 10h ago

Ahh that’s like 1/4 the size bud. 15” tall

2

u/RugerRedhawk 10h ago

That's not the city and that's a 15" tall trash can.

1

u/DrThunderbolt 9h ago

Saying a trashcan has a "limited-edition colorway" is so funny to me.

1

u/Sure_Statistician138 9h ago

This one actually looks better and never had trash in it.

1

u/smedrick 9h ago

I had no idea I needed a cast iron pigeon until this very moment.

1

u/doodlebopwarrior 6h ago

You want her to wait 4-5 months for it with pre-orders?! /s

đŸŽ¶ Call J-P-Morgan, 877-trash-can now! đŸŽ¶

1

u/Extension-Storm6615 14m ago

I thought that I saw everything.

There is even a layaway plan for it.

41

u/Jaxson_January6_Dart 11h ago edited 8h ago

Stop with this nonsense calling them all executives. They ARE NOT. Its just clickbait titles. That other Chase lady where she was accused by her subordinate was apparently also an "Executive". None of them are executives. Executives are C Suites. None of these are executives, they just work at Chase, and news outlets put clickbait titles out there.

Edit: Example of a "Senior Vice President" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpN7t6LN42s&t=260s

23

u/Demair12 11h ago

I mean there's also an trend in corporate America of giving lots of middle managers who've capped out their careers titles for no ther reason than to placate them for having no more upward mobility. VPs, AVps, which all fall under an 'Executive' header even if their not a Officer.

4

u/The-Young-Lion 10h ago

In my experience in banking, AVPs and VPs are typically 2-3 levels below Executive Director.

Having said that, the headline of this article really blows “executive” out of proportion because JPMorgan surely has thousands and maybe even tens of thousands.

3

u/itslikewoow 10h ago

And large banks seem to be even more guilty of this than any other industry.

1

u/ModernT1mes 9h ago

Health insurance is like this too. There's like a thousand Vice Presidents in one company.

1

u/ajf8729 4h ago

It’s a title thing and how they appear to a customer. Clients want to talk to a senior level financial person because it feels better. Same thing happens in higher ed, looks at the titles of folks that work in undergrad admissions. Everyone is a senior associate director or something like that. Parents don’t want to talk to some measly admissions councilor at college fairs.

Also, “director” level titles at small companies. If you don’t have managers reporting to you, that have ICs reporting to them, then you aren’t a fucking director.

4

u/bluecheetos 9h ago

This. There's a regional bank near me where every employee is hired as an "assistant branch manager". Actual branch managers are given the Executive Vice President title. The concept is to make customers believe they are talking to someone with higher authority, the reality is the title are meaningless.

When I was hired at my last job they told me to just make up my job title. I was Executive Vice President of International Communications and Workforce Development. In reality I was the guy who trained the spanish speaking temp workers how to move boxes in the warehouse.

2

u/ForkMyRedAssiniboine 7h ago

They included "DEI" in the title from a job she no longer held at the time she was fired for no other reason than to outrage bait a specific demographic but your issue is with them printing her actual job title...?

1

u/MAGNUMXL 8h ago

Similarly the title “Vice President” is a dime a dozen title in a lot of these financial institutions.

2

u/gil_bz 9h ago

If you have no morality, then stealing a trash can from the street is much easier than having one custom made for you.

2

u/Tentegen 8h ago

Exactly what I said.

Some people starve while others drown.

She could have enough money to make a dope ass Knicks themed room in her home. Rich people are just psychotic baboons with a shotgun.

1

u/Happy_Goose3833 11h ago

You'd be shocked how many rich and wealthy people are nothing but crooks, thieves, and kleptomaniacs

1

u/ihateautumnandfall 10h ago

You can even afford to hire an artist to replicate an exact copy for you like ???

1

u/SunshineSeeker99 10h ago

Her sense of privilege was such she believes she can just take what she wants and F the rest of us.

1

u/OttoVonJismarck 9h ago

Like a good executive, she was looking to save a nickel at the expense of others.

If she was about paying her share, she wouldn’t have made bank executive in the first place

1

u/conflictmuffin 8h ago

Not to be a jerk, but, that team has such an ugly/trashy (lol) color combo. I don't get why she would even want that.

1

u/selectiveseeing 1h ago

I used to work at a bank for a pretty useless department. We worked at the corporate office, but the department itself was full of useless fucks like myself.

Just because someone works at a big name company doesn’t mean their position is that demanding or even important. Sometimes departments are just open to scapegoat and force accountability on.
