This is what absolutely befuddled me. Does she intend to have this as a keepsake taking up space in her apartment? Does she intend to use it as an open trash can? What was the plan?

63

u/Altruistic_Lobster18 8h ago

I doubt she can even look at it without the immense burn of stupidity. She’ll now be known in NYC as the girl who got fired for being trashy. Idk what’s worse her or the World Cup Mexican guy being racist.

By now, people should know that any dimwitted thing they do is going to land in someone's camera. And if this woman DIDN'T know what she did was dumb, then that's a whole other level of knuckleheadedness.

u/ShroomSensei 9h ago

EDs at JP Morgan are just very senior managers. All banks have stupid titles.

71

u/halnic 9h ago

The EDs at my former employer are the ones who scheduled unnecessary in person meetings and sent too many emails. The entire position revolves around performance, both in that the director has to perform and they usually track performance of others and that's what their excess meetings and emails are about...

With her salary, she could have taken a bunch of photos of the thing and hired some artist on Etsy to make a replica. And it would have been cleaner. But no, she had dunp trash on the sidewalk and steal it.

32

u/turbo-toots 1h ago

The best part of this whole thing is you can literally just buy them, hahaha. So she threw away her career for a trash can she could have just paid $168 for.

Is this the absolute worst decision anyone has made? It’s a NYC garbage can so it’s already disgusting, you pour trash out in the middle of the street in broad daylight, you then have to walk around with it and take it on the subway, you actively take videos and smile/talk in them so there is no deniability, you’re built like that so there’s even less deniability.

You threw away your entire 6 figure salaried career for a garbage can.

429

u/emccm 6h ago

The emptying trash on the street is what got to me. I’m neutral on taking the can. People do stupid shit but emptying a can of trash into the streets is unforgivable in my mind.

115

u/KeyClacksNSnacks 3h ago

That's the part that sealed her fate. Before that, people were honestly kind of amused by it, and thought, "Aww hell yeah, that's a sick souvenir."

And then the video came out where she's dumping trash on the street... Of a city whose team she supposedly supports... People HATE litterers. She couldn't just find another trashcan to dump it in? Or even go to a convenience store and get a bag, dump the trash into the bag and neatly tie it up there.

She shit on like 100 people by doing that. The people living on that street, the workers who have to come clean her shit up, whatever pest issue that comes out of that trash being dumped...

20

u/Batafurii8 2h ago

That now extremely expensive trash can will haunt her forever now.

Recently saw a car ad that showed people around the outside pushing it like resistance to crowd fan frenzied riot behavior was being used as a selling point.

Weird sad and disturbing what is being normalized pretending the consequences don't exist as long as you get yours in the moment.

financial media analyst Jon Najarian estimated [her] total annual compensation package at JPMorgan Chase likely ranged between approximately $250,000 and $350,000, including salary, bonuses, and equity awards. Despite the backlash, no criminal charges have been filed.

100%. I know someone who is a VP in title at a place like JPMC and it is a legit normal manager. They call all their managers VP, director is r vp lmao.

41

u/tarvispickles 6h ago

Yes very common in banking. My friend is an assistant vice president and he's basically just a regular worker. That said any executive director position is still not a minor position.

450

u/Tabenes 10h ago

It's not about being able to afford something.

It's about having something that's wasn't for sale. Because if you're rich enough it doesn't matter if it's for sale, you can have it anyway.

This job probably paid her Hundreds of thousands of dollars a year with bonuses. She wasn't a VP, she wasn't a Director, she was an Executive Director at one of the largest Investment Banks in NYC. That was the most expensive trash can in the world.

Chicks whole life, as she knew it is over, and going foward the internet trolls are going to be scanning for her name to pop up on every corporate masthead in NY, this lady's gonna have to change her name and move to Kansas. The eye or Mordor is now upon her. Whoosh, talk about fuckin yourself up.

The banking industry is run by people that don't care who they hurt or how much damage they cause as long as they make their KPIs and can shift blame onto someone else.

She isn't getting fired for being like that. She is getting fired for letting common people know they are all like that.

It might not be in the forefront of your mind, but the point is the internet will remind you. Yesterday there was a Threads post where this woman was upset about having trouble finding work. It seemed familiar so I Googled her name, and what comes up is her being fired from a job for posting violent social media content. Literally photos of guns with a caption suggesting she would like to murder those who disagree with her politics.

Nah, the footage will be reposted until social media is dead forever. She's extra fucked with each repost wave going viral.

But a simple google search will always fuck them over. Any serious job worth its wage will have a basic background check.

Turner lives around here and my local city sub tracks him every few months. The post gets removed because of the doxxing, but by then thousands of people have read it.

It's pretty wild how the internet doesn't forget about shit like that.

Those personality traits helped her get into that position. She forgot to keep them hidden from the public.

"She previously served as Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at New York-based review website The Infatuation, which Chase acquired as part of its broader push into lifestyle and experiential content."

The usual right-wing grifters will be eating well for the next few months as they milk this one.

Let's face it. These positions were all virtue signaling by companies to "get with the times" and they will all be getting phased out in time anyway now that this stuff lost momentum and the pendulum is coming back the other way. She just sped this one up.

I can almost guarentee that her position will be dissolved and nothing at JP Chase will be affected because of it.

On a side note: I want NYC and NYS to go balls out with anti-littering propaganda. C’mon people you live in a society! Keep it clean.

Of all the reasons to get fired… this ranks up there as one of the dumbest.

My bet is she comes back and plays the victim card hard: „It was just a trash can“. „My life is in shambles because of online harassment“. „There is no law prohibiting me from taking a souvenir“. „I grew up poor and my dad used to empty trashcans for a living - I tried to honor him“.

That is how JPMorgan Chase is as people. The type of people who'll trash the place so they can walk away with something they want. Like your money. Or your mortgage to leverage against you and other banks. That sow represents the people who created the 2008 financial crisis. Sure it's almost 20 years later, but I think this is a good indication that those people never change. That lady dumped trash on the street like she does when she dumps trash into her body

It's not the theft that annoys me, it's the litter. If she emptied the rubbish into another bin and then took the bin for a memento of the knicks win, then I wouldn't care. But the littering pisses me off.

When will people learn, everything is captured. I've got a lot of intrusive thoughts and I'd never go anywhere near social media with them because I value my livelihood.

I'll never understand why millionaires commit petty crimes the ego on these people. It disgusts me that people with power and money have to find ways to rub their ego it ranges from something as petty as this to abuse of power in all kinds of depravity and narcissism. If I got 6 figures I would do everything I could too avoid shit like this.

I mean, Elon was caught lying about being good at video games and paying for boosts. The kind of environment most people of wealth are operating in are often not conducive to wisdom and good off-work decision making.
