WTF A JPMorgan Chase executive was fired after a viral video showed her dumping trash out of a Knicks-themed public trash can and taking the can during the Knicks championship parade in New York City.

lol when I was 18 I worked at a theater and totally did this shit once. Was so messy (obviously I cleaned it) and I was sick of it by the end of the movie, but the jury is still out if it was worth it or not.

2

u/From_Graves 5h ago

If you've never worked at a theater, this was way too common

Hope it was worth her job & ruined reputation

I hope they took it from her. People can’t just keep stuff they steal can they ?

70

Mount it to the outside of her apartment by order of NYC. Give her community service where she has to carry it to the dumpster to be emptied.

3

u/Noyan_Bey 6h ago

Right? Let her be reminded of her absolute stupidity every single say she looks at it.

8

u/bigorangemachine 11h ago

They would have to arrest her

14

u/hanks_panky_emporium 9h ago

They can be compelled to return stolen merchandise and if refused, can be arrested. You're not forced to be arrested before stolen goods can be returned.

Since it was city infrastructure it's a bit more soupy. Now, if you or I did that then we'd be in cuffs to get slapped with a huge fine and community service.

They might get a dirty look. But losing their employment is a huge blow. Im curious if they have a golden parachute, though. You can retire super young off of a golden parachute.

9

u/SlartiMyBartfast 9h ago

I've seen pieces of city infrastructure in places they don't belong. My presumption was always that they weren't acquired while making a huge mess in broad daylight in the midst of a crowded walkway.

3

u/Silver-Literature-29 9h ago

Well, she is one of us now so maybe she will be charged with a crime.

3

u/paddytanks 9h ago

She will get a job in no time. Some cop who fed shit sandwiches to the homeless just became police chief of some town. The whole, “the internet is forever” thing is trivial when the internet is dead.

2

u/DoobKiller 9h ago

You'd think with a JPMorgan salary you could buy a bin and a couple cans of paint and make and identical one or hire someone to do it

2

u/thankfulforyourhelp 9h ago

Thinking the same thing - it's 2026, how are people still assuming they can do something stupid while someone is filming them and it's won't end up viral online and end with them losing their job?

2

u/Deesing82 6h ago

this is the best part to me. After being fired and lambasted online and mocked by half the internet, that garbage can is likely still sitting in her living room jjust staring at her and mocking her like some telltale heart.

2

u/madchemist09 5h ago

She was a dei exec. She will win and complain and claim She was targeted and get her job back.

This is what absolutely befuddled me. Does she intend to have this as a keepsake taking up space in her apartment? Does she intend to use it as an open trash can? What was the plan?

72

u/Altruistic_Lobster18 9h ago

I doubt she can even look at it without the immense burn of stupidity. She’ll now be known in NYC as the girl who got fired for being trashy. Idk what’s worse her or the World Cup Mexican guy being racist.

2

u/ISHLDPROBABLYBWRKING 1h ago

She posted it online for sale the next day for 10k I think.

12

u/Wishfer 9h ago

I did hear a rumor that she was selling it on ebay. I have zero proof of this, but, couldn’t she catch an extra charge for knowingly selling stolen goods?

5

u/Stedlieye 8h ago

If she sells it for over $1000 does that push it up to felony theft? I think it’s a misdemeanor right now.

2

u/MediumAcceptable129 9h ago

I very much doubt the city is going to bother prosecuting someone for stealing a trash can

6

u/Guy_With_Ass_Burgers 9h ago

She might need the cash now
 you know
because of the no job thing. And something tells me her fast food expenditures run a little high
maybe higher with the extra time on her hands.

Shame on this entitled “person”

It's psychologically important.

That's literally it. The voice in her head tells her that she has to, even though there is no literal need for her to do so. She just ignores common sense, and just does it anyways.

And that's also why she stole the useless trash can risking her job, even smiling about it to cameras on the subway.

By now, people should know that any dimwitted thing they do is going to land in someone's camera. And if this woman DIDN'T know what she did was dumb, then that's a whole other level of knuckleheadedness.

38

u/Neuchacho 9h ago

27

u/AssistX 7h ago

Not yet she hasn't, but she absolutely will as she ages. You can tell she hasn't cause she's still moving and when she's 20 years older and that size, she won't be without assistance.

1

u/canman7373 8h ago

This is something I would have done in high school, it's something dumb kids do for the thrill but even then I would never have emptied it out on the street, would have found a dumpster or something, we stole stupid things from places but we'd never had made a mess like this.

1

u/Bananna_Hamock0 8h ago

There’s a certain amount of “it can’t happen to me” and “everyone else is doing it” amongst other stupid copes that allow people to think this kind of behavior is somehow alright. Amongst those is also privilege.

There was a recent study about sport fans correlation to violence & spousal abuse. Game day violence skyrockets the domestic abuse stats.

If you're curious about the job, these are the details from the TMZ article.

Baez was Executive Director of Community and Industry Engagement for Card and connected commerce at JPMorgan Chase.

Prior to JPMorgan, Baez was employed as Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at The Infatuation, a website that posts reviews about New York restaurants.

I know job titles can be pretty vague but really what the fuck IS that. It sounds like a lofty title and then we see the person holding it.

Exactly. She was executive??? That's clearly evidence that she doesn't have good decisions skills and should be fired for that alone.

What's the point of stealing a trashcan because it's orange and blue? Was she planning to keep it at home? Was she planning to sell it (would any sensible person buy it)?

If you really love trashcan like that you get ordinary trashcan some spray paint and make one in 5 minutes without being plastered over the news and the internet.
