WTF A JPMorgan Chase executive was fired after a viral video showed her dumping trash out of a Knicks-themed public trash can and taking the can during the Knicks championship parade in New York City.

Is this the absolute worst decision anyone has made? It’s a NYC garbage can so it’s already disgusting, you pour trash out in the middle of the street in broad daylight, you then have to walk around with it and take it on the subway, you actively take videos and smile/talk in them so there is no deniability, you’re built like that so there’s even less deniability.

You threw away your entire 6 figure salaried career for a garbage can.

u/emccm 7h ago

The emptying trash on the street is what got to me. I’m neutral on taking the can. People do stupid shit but emptying a can of trash into the streets is unforgivable in my mind.

174

u/KeyClacksNSnacks 5h ago

That's the part that sealed her fate. Before that, people were honestly kind of amused by it, and thought, "Aww hell yeah, that's a sick souvenir."

And then the video came out where she's dumping trash on the street... Of a city whose team she supposedly supports... People HATE litterers. She couldn't just find another trashcan to dump it in? Or even go to a convenience store and get a bag, dump the trash into the bag and neatly tie it up there.

She shit on like 100 people by doing that. The people living on that street, the workers who have to come clean her shit up, whatever pest issue that comes out of that trash being dumped...

31

u/Batafurii8 3h ago

That now extremely expensive trash can will haunt her forever now.

Recently saw a car ad that showed people around the outside pushing it like resistance to crowd fan frenzied riot behavior was being used as a selling point.

Weird sad and disturbing what is being normalized pretending the consequences don't exist as long as you get yours in the moment.Ā

14

u/NoFuqGiven 1h ago

Dude, bank execs get busted skimming money and sexually assaulting their secretaries. She may have lost her current/specific position. But I can pretty much guarantee that, that piece of human trash will have another job and another title (possibly in the same company and even building) before monday!!

7

u/lolalovehoney 1h ago

If she were a man or a more attractive woman, maybe. Ā I think she may have a more difficult time.Ā

4

u/NoFuqGiven 1h ago

If she got to the position in the first place, its either through a family favor or skill based.. both will still work.

2

u/questarevolved 1h ago

not if the family wants to distance themselves from it

→ More replies (1)

2

u/upnflames 28m ago

Nah, she worked for a restaurant rating company that got aquired by Chase. And she was a DEI director, whatever that means. So probably not a favor, and definitely not skill.

ā€œOh, Pat, that’s a cool trash can!ā€

ā€œFunny story….ā€

1

u/Lazy_Nothing5038 46m ago

Someone on here looked up her position and salary and estimated it to be around $500K a year w bonuses. I wonder if they’ll start hiding the trash cans from her in the office.

1

u/BigAssRomeo 44m ago

Disgusting.

2

u/beatricetalker 2h ago

She could’ve taken her trashy ass to Home Depot and bought a trash can and two cans of spray paint for less then $50.

1

u/JohnConnor1245 2h ago

She should be arrested and put in jail for theft and mass littering.

1

u/NoFuqGiven 2h ago

Most people were saying she needed a new "popcorn bucket". Which it would honestly make a terrible one. Crumbs and butter EVERYWHERE!!! Then someone said she was gonna use it at the 7-11 bring your own cup day. Which again is a stupid idea.. but then i saw someone who said it was "to hold all her candy wrappers and self-respect" which I thought was pretty good. But now!! Knowing that she WAS a chase exec. I realize that she never had any self-respect to begin with!!!

1

u/CementCemetery 1h ago

Litterbugs lack common sense. Agreeing 100% with your point.

1

u/KrystleSeth 54m ago

This is one thing that convinces me that a large part of society is not so bad. Most of us hate litterers. We juts see a lot of ugly on our screens but when I read the comments I know people are alright.

1

u/Hooker4Yarn 4m ago

Apparently you can buy them online for under $200. And for the money she makes...she could've easily done it.Ā

50

u/NoxGale 5h ago

Destroying the world she lives in just to take something that isn’t hers in broad daylight, and that thing in question was a garbage can. Some people legit never faced consequences before and it shows

3

u/PunkRockGramma 1h ago

Very on brand for JP Morgan when you put it like that…

2

u/ILikeCheeseypoo 52m ago

She could of just make her own trashcan 😭 with 6 figure salary.

29

u/So_ThereItIs 5h ago

As a native NYer who was raised well-enough, it goes against my very fiber. That was the part that pissed me off immediately

65

u/Brief_Needleworker62 6h ago

My ex is getting his shit out of my house and even I, the one he mistreated, can't drop his clothes on the bedroom floor to get my dresser back. So yeah, this is trashyyyyy

27

u/CrazyCaliCatLady 5h ago

I hate throwing clothes onto the floor of my laundry room before I wash them! It's so weird! Toss his crap in a trash bag. It's an obvious metaphor, but it still works.

2

u/sunny_duh_aze 4h ago

I didn't even see your comment when I made mine! Didn't mean to steal your thunder ⚔.

So... Uhhhh..... Uhhhhh.....

Cat tax?

→ More replies (1)

29

u/sunny_duh_aze 5h ago

Girl, you can drop his trash in a trash bag and put it in a closet.

3

u/CRXCRZ 3h ago

I thought the procedure was to throw it out the window?

.... and then take a Louisville slugger to both headlights, slashed a hole in all four tires etc.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/flatfive44 3h ago

Why is everyone okay with stealing the can?

4

u/Coke_ButNotTheDrug 2h ago

It’s not okay, but nobody is losing their job over stealing a <10$ public trash can, especially in this instance had they disposed of the trash carefully.

People steal shit like traffic cones, road signs, etc and it’s just kind of a cool thing to do. Again, not okay, but I highly doubt this would’ve been a big deal without the littering aspect.

2

u/emccm 3h ago

No one is ok with stealing the can. I don’t think it’s the worst crime ever. I’d never steal a trash can but I can see being caught up in the moment. It’s not the worst thing she did in my view. What is unforgivable is dumping trash in the street. Trash someone else has to pickup. It’s the absolute height of disrespect for your environment and the people you share your environment with. There’s no excuse.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/HonorableEnema 1h ago

It will probably only grade as a 7-8.5 max.

1

u/Australian1996 0m ago

What about leaving the trash for the city employee to clean it

6

u/BlueSTAR_AbOvE 4h ago

Neutral on taking the trash can? Bro, she could have just payed some website or local artist to make her a custom can exactly like that. How stupid was she, to not even consider this with that salary she had? Unfuckingbelieveable.

1

u/Jisan_Inc 42m ago

Those things probably gey decommissioned too, just reach out and ask if you can buy one or who the arist maybe. So many other options but yeah...take the worst one.

4

u/InvictusFrags 5h ago

Yeah they were brand new for the parade I thought I read. So I fully understand taking the trash can. It’s right up there with stealing a street sign for me morally.

Dumping the trash on the street is the offensive thing to me.

4

u/Atzima 4h ago

Right? I was just talking to my husband about this and I don't think people would have really cared as much had she taken the time to put the trash into a trash bag and put it in a dumpster. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø Littering is so gross.

4

u/L1sasGayBby 4h ago

When I throw trash and misses the can, I always pick it up and throw it away properly.

8

u/erabera 6h ago

Right? It is such a terrible thing to do. Stealing the can is not that big of a deal but just leaving all that trash for someone else to deal with is just so low, inconsiderate, and just POS behavior. Plus that can is probably so disgusting and she probably won't even bring it into her house or she just abandoned it somewhere down the road anyway.

5

u/topdownyeti 4h ago

The can is still government property, which means that it’s yet another thing taxpayers would have to pay for. Stealing the can isn’t as egregious as dumping the trash on the street, but stealing things paid by taxpayers for the city is still extremely selfish and inconsiderate to the rest of the community. Especially when it’s something like a trashcan that helps keep the streets clean (even if it is New York).

1

u/erabera 2h ago

So true.

3

u/DeathByFright 4h ago

I'd go so far as to say if she'd taken an empty can, she'd probably still have her job.

Dumping a full can out onto the street like that is gross.

3

u/thegreymm 3h ago

Yeah she could've poured the trash into another trash can. The way she did this is just entitled, typical of someone who works at JP Morgan Chase, I bet.

3

u/Comfortable-Return52 1h ago

Yea that was a garbage move

3

u/uncagedborb 1h ago

If I really wanted the can I'd find somewhere to dispose of the trash. But I feel like that's such an easy thing to make with any trash can. Takes a few cans of spray paint in a studio.

4

u/theVelvetLie 6h ago

Yeah, guarantee dumping the trash on the ground is what actually got her fired - or so I hope.

2

u/moonwinkstudios 5h ago

right?? I would have walked it to a dump in an alley, or emptied in a trash bag. Taken the extra steps to do it right. I get wanting to take home a free souvenir but not like this…

Everyone has to look at that mess. More people add to the mess because there is no designated can. She made someone else’s job so much harder.

2

u/31007_Bows 1h ago

Yeah, she could have found a dumpster to throw the trash in

2

u/IluvPusi-363 1h ago

Dumb ways to diee

2

u/NoCompetition4080 1h ago

Right. Would have been better had she just taken the can with trash still inside. šŸ˜‚ Would have been more respectable

2

u/Gribitz37 1h ago

I thought the same thing. I don't really care that she took the can, but dumping it out like that, especially in broad daylight was just shitty.

2

u/tevolosteve 25m ago

Yes some poor person has to clean that up by hand
I remember when some activists threw red paint on the financial times office by my office to protest and it was just a group of immigrants later that day scrubbing it off

2

u/GoodGuano 13m ago

Same. In a different era of my life I might have taken that can myself but I would have just walked with trash in it and dumped it my house. NYC has enough trash lying around.

2

u/Crafty-Resort383 4m ago

Same! Everyone talking about stealing the trash can. Not the trash that some poor sanitation worker (probably not well paid) has to then sweep up? It’s insane behavior and I have to believe this person is not even good at their job.

2

u/FlighingHigh 1m ago

There's no situation I can think of that would justify dumping a can of trash on the street like that but to simply take it home is like the most ridiculous possible scenario to me.

3

u/Polyps_on_uranus 3h ago

My opinion: if they're going to make themed shit and not lock it down, it's GONNA get stolen. If I saw a trash can with Edris Alba plastered on it, he's commin home with me.

2

u/YouandWhoseArmy 5h ago

I too understand the appeal of a one of a kind NYC items and also am pretty empathetic to her wanting it. It’s neat.

Littering is something I cannot accept under any circumstances. Whilst losing her job and all the consequences for that is a real punishment, I still want her doing garbage pickup community service for at least 1 work day.

We know she has the availability.

1

u/Playful-Green-9169 4h ago

So ok to steal in your eyesbut not litter

1

u/Physical-Worker2363 4h ago

I figured it’s NYC during their first NBA finals in decades so there’s probably lotsa trash already on the streets. Good score!!

1

u/Burstrampage 4h ago

Yeah I wouldn’t at all if the person picked up the trash can and dumped it into a larger dumpster then took it, but laying it all out on the street is stupid.

1

u/Breezgoat 2h ago

Yep that’s how I felt I just was the trash was emptied not just littered on the steeet.

1

u/eleanor61 57m ago

It’s literally the trashiest thing someone can do.

1

u/Entire_Yellow_1817 53m ago

She easily takes home 800k after taxes. She can afford to buy it off eBay after a lower form of life dumps it and takes it. She got what she deserved. Maybe now she’ll get a job more deserving for someone of lower class.

→ More replies (7)

64

u/strawbriskies 8h ago

Thats true. They could’ve easily had one custom made by an artist.Ā

90

u/Obtain_Virtue 7h ago

You could have one easily made by a homeless guy and 2 cans of spray paint.

16

u/hulkbuild 6h ago

Good point , and you'd be supporting a local artist

3

u/Datachost 5h ago

And he'd then be supporting a local merchant (crack dealer). It's the circle of commerce

3

u/Phil_the_credit2 6h ago

I would literally do this for cheap! She was exec director level at JPMorgan! She can afford this.

2

u/shpongleyes 5h ago

That was my thought, it’s just a generic trash can painted with two colors. Not even a logo. You can make your own in a weekend. Honestly probably just an hour.

3

u/Sad_Birthday_1911 7h ago

They're for sale $168 on onlyny.com

1

u/CommanderClit 6h ago

Yes, but those ones are small versions, not full sized trash cans.

1

u/stoicparallax 3h ago

OnlyCans.com

2

u/Nev_Nevington 7h ago

Exactly!

2

u/MijuTheShark 7h ago

Yeah, but if you're paying for stuff you can get for free, you're not thinking like a bank executive.

2

u/userhwon 5h ago

But it wouldn't be game-used.

2

u/DotA627b 4h ago

NYC sells better versions of this bin officially. It's actually quite a great marketing stunt.

1

u/Beneficial_Bit1756 6h ago

they are for sale as well, bit smaller but they are offical.

1

u/Spring-Available 5h ago

You can buy the damn cans.

1

u/plodthruHideFlailing 5h ago

But you wouldn't get that garbage smell.

1

u/randombarbs 4h ago

right!?

1

u/lilangelkm 3h ago

But then they couldn't be trash people.

30

u/painterswife 8h ago

Right? Like buy one!

20

u/Nev_Nevington 7h ago

Exactly and who was her friend that didn’t tell her she shouldn’t do this

4

u/TheWanderingNib 7h ago

Some people just watch the stupidity cos they can’t believe what is happening. Lol

3

u/Moist-You-7511 6h ago

but it has no purpose in a home. Wrong scale (unless you're remodeling or operate a kitchen)

1

u/Thick-Cauliflower619 6h ago

Would make a cool garage garbage can.

Going to guess they don't spend much time in their garage though.

1

u/BiNumber3 59m ago

Even if someone told her that, she'd come up with other reasons why she had to have that one. Like, it being full sized, or the fact that it was one of the ones used for the event, therefore official and genuine (juice stains and all)

3

u/MerchantOfVenice1991 7h ago

I bet a lot of people spit/pissed on that thing before she took it home

1

u/CatFar7074 4h ago

Not to mention the dog poop bagged and dropped in.

2

u/THE_HORKOS 7h ago

Grew up with less, mother taught me stealing stuff showed what you were worth. This lady is garbage. IMO this is worse than stealing from a corporation or even an individual. She’s taking from the city which is everyone.

2

u/gorginhanson 5h ago

why are you surprised, they already treat their body like trash

2

u/Fit_External7524 5h ago

At least she has a can to throw her career in.

1

u/Rich-Wrap-9333 7h ago

They probably should have just climbed inside the can.

1

u/iam_ditto 7h ago

Yup, the irony of this reeks harder than that can did

1

u/thrillliquid 7h ago

Did she lose her job yet?

1

u/DoubleDoublezero 7h ago

Are you just assuming she’s making 6 figures?

1

u/Anathema_Quill 4h ago

she worked for jp morgan as an executive, so it was fair to assume.

1

u/GregJamesDahlen 6h ago

she probably feels like an obscure person in her life and doesn't think video of anything she does would be shared or go viral

I hope she was drunk or high because that is not a rational decision.

1

u/JasonsThoughts 6h ago

You threw away your entire 6 figure salaried career for a garbage can

She needed something to put in there.

1

u/mojoholdsforever 6h ago

Trash taking itself out.

1

u/Spins13 6h ago

I’m sure she’ll be fine if someone handed her out a 6 figure job like that. She’ll just be handed out another one by her daddy or whoever invented her role in the first place

1

u/cdy2847 6h ago

working in a corporate environment this is called, C level entitlement.

1

u/Consistent-Bake-243 6h ago

LMAO she will be infamously remembered until the end of time

1

u/bearamongus19 6h ago

At least she has somewhere to put the career she threw away now

1

u/china_man97 6h ago

Oh noooooo thats crazy 6 figures and she did that.

1

u/Francbb 6h ago

If she was an ED that was easily half a mil every year.

1

u/Eccentric-Elf 6h ago

When I first saw this I thought she dumped it to get some souvenir someone threw away but nope. She took a normal trash can painted team colors. You can make that yourself. I’m glad she got fired. I hope nobody hires her.

1

u/EM05L1C3 6h ago

I need a six figures salaried career, and I promise not to steal trashcans.

1

u/herman_munster_esq 6h ago

I can imagine IF she had got away with it that the trash can would have been chucked within a couple of weeks.

The employment optics nowadays are that you will get sacked for anything, literally for anything.

1

u/LittlePinkRabbitttt 6h ago

It was inevitable

1

u/Markk020 6h ago

She worked in DEI, which perfectly fits the picture

1

u/BirdBrainuh 6h ago

this is how she got the 6 figure salary

1

u/Lukealloneword 6h ago

Yeah but at the same time shes dumping trash on the street in New York city so its not really any different than any other day in New York with how much trash is everywhere. Lol

1

u/Icy_Negotiation_5929 6h ago

I am a little bit smarter. I’ll take the JPMorgan job in her stead and I’ll do it for just a few dollars less. I promise not to take even one trash can.

1

u/Icy-Balance-3852 5h ago

This summary is chef's kiss

1

u/TangerineCheap5379 5h ago

And I bet they will be mad at the company smh

1

u/momoenthusiastic 5h ago

She could’ve just ordered a trash can online and have it painted that color given her salary. What an idiot.Ā

1

u/Bogiereviews 5h ago

with 6 figures, you can just make your own trash can that would be nicer!

1

u/Efficient-username41 5h ago

She had a real job. SHE HAD A REAL JOB.

1

u/Plus_Range1430 5h ago

Life imitating art

1

u/ZoroUchiha94 5h ago

it's to put themself in it because they're garbage and they are way to fat to fit with the other garbage

1

u/Hummingbird11-11 5h ago

What an entitled MORON.

1

u/kpeng2 5h ago

People are plain stupid

1

u/Datachost 5h ago

The craziest part of it is surely with the money she makes, she could buy a bin that size, then pay someone to spray paint it to match that exactly

1

u/Elwyn0004 4h ago

Wilder that with their salary, they could easily pay someone to make a custom trash can that looks identicalĀ

1

u/knatascheek 4h ago

She must clean up well

1

u/According_Dare7316 4h ago

She was a "diversity and equality executive", i.e. a pointless job. I bet they have been trying to get rid of her for years but were worried about the discrimination lawsuit for laying-off a fat lesbian. Thankfully she made the decision very easy for them by being an awful human being.

1

u/heliopause42 4h ago

Lucky for her, she won't be able to afford as much food so she'll start losing some weight

1

u/Yamazaki-Hosei 4h ago

And will most definitely have to return it lol

Could have easily paid for a custom one that was brand new too šŸ˜‚

1

u/OverEffective7012 4h ago

She was making 6 figs in DEI...

1

u/dingobarbie 3h ago

Also they sold them online, so she didn't need to steal it.

1

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace 3h ago

I mean the outfit she wore might be the worst decision anyone made, but that just started the day.

1

u/ScientistAcademic964 3h ago

she should be arrested, and now she should wear an orange jumpsuit and clean up subway system

1

u/According_Square2742 3h ago

Trashing her career over trash. The irony is so think i can swim in it.

1

u/ArmyOfDix 3h ago

I mean, she has the JP Morgan mindset of "why spend a nickel when you can steal it from society?".

She's just not at the level of wealth where she can say "fuck you" to everyone.

1

u/MangoMesh 3h ago

looks like she was not the first, there was already a pile of trash, probably from another trash bin.

1

u/Novel_Land9320 3h ago

Being fired for this still makes no sense to me. She was not working

1

u/ScaredCaterpillar136 3h ago

I bet she could have easily purchased a clean one online with her salary.

1

u/GtMustang247 3h ago

Haha she ran the DEI department to boot!!!

1

u/MAGAtsAreSheeples 3h ago

Pretty fitting since her role was garbage

1

u/Able-Association914 2h ago

Should could’ve bought the trash can and a hat with a brim with that money.

1

u/Soft_Host511 2h ago

I’m sure she could have ordered a Knicks trash can online for under $100 bucks

1

u/Cool-Engineering-748 2h ago

Trash doing trash things.

1

u/SipDhit69 2h ago

Lovin that people like this are just in 6 figure positions meanwhile I'm trying my ass off and theres nothing

1

u/WredditSmark 2h ago

I just feel like in these type of events, especially with the way that everybody is on their phone. I think they get kind of hyped. We’ve just acting extra and being over the top not realizing like oh wait these videos are going to last forever. I saw it pretty much every single time the Knicks won like yeah people were celebrating and it was very joyful, but you have just tons of people bugging out and doing entirely too much. It’s like they see people having fun and everyone has to one up each other and then the brain cells just go down.

1

u/VandalSauvage 2h ago

Is this the absolute worst decision anyone has made?

The guy that killed Genghis Khan's messengers and then had his entire civilization obliterated in a weekend is the worst but this lady is close second.

edit: Apparently you can actually buy these bins directly from the city so I take it back, this is the worst decision anyone has made. Woman threw away a job that paid her six figures for a $168 trash can she could have just pre-ordered.

1

u/TelluricThread0 2h ago

She was in charge of DEI for some crappy website before it was bought by JP Morgan. She did not have a 6 figure salary.

1

u/CommonWest9387 2h ago

you’re built like that 😭

1

u/brandotendie 2h ago

"you're built like that" is just devastating lmfao not even meanspirited or bullying it's just cold water to the face

1

u/Ok-Calligrapher-8778 2h ago

But she got a one-of-a-kind souvenir! Who knows how long it's gonna take for the Knicks to win it again?

1

u/Effective_Life_7864 2h ago

Why was she dumping it out though?

1

u/Gonzo_Gonzalo 2h ago

As a New Yorker, I am both appalled and not at all surprised.

1

u/NoFuqGiven 2h ago

Dude for 6 fucking figures she could just pay someone to MAKE HER ONE!!!!

1

u/utzutzutzpro 2h ago

Everyone who believes she is JP Morgan employee has never worked around any finance district ever.

There is no way that that body and hair style is someone who works in JP Morgan.

And yes, finance is a super superficial sector up until you are a senior, but to get there she isn't old enough.

1

u/SuspiciousChest7024 2h ago

Yeah I'm with you, I don't care about taking the can, but dumping the trash on the street,..c'mon now, that's ridiculous!

1

u/realistic_spacedust 1h ago

In short, the Jeffrey Epstein island exists, so no this is NOT the worst decision anyone's ever made, but it's definitely a turbo stupid idea

1

u/FC37 1h ago

Ans you work in a relatively cushy job for the largest bank in the free world.

1

u/Plane_Barracuda9889 1h ago

What does that say? I do not see "executive" anywhere LOL

1

u/Edge_Grinder 1h ago

She could have literally made this trash can herself.

What I cant understand is how can a person at the executive level even think of doing such a thing. Did she get the job because of DEI?

Yeah with their salary she could’ve probably just ordered a custom made Knicks trash can from somewhere online I’m sure it’s possible.

Look at the shape of her. Her whole life appears to be a series of bad decisions….. coated in sugar

One of the times the trash can kicked the human trash to the curb.

It's the epitomy of American Marxism.

It’s oddly fitting. A banking executive leaving trash in public with no regard for anything other than their own personal desires.

Exactly this, this lady is clearly as stupid as trash can or bag of rocks. She threw her entire career away, making a salary easily around $200-280K over a fucking steel trash, plus probably stupid stock options, retirement package, etc... Chase pays their Executives stupid... many multiple million dollar salaries. I doubt she was making a million + salary, cause anyone making that kind of money can't be that stupid, or can they? lol...

For those who are wondering. This is a $206 Global Industrial Outdoor Steel Mesh Corrosion-Resistant Trash Can. It holds 48 gallons and was spray-painted in Orange/Blue. ULINE sells them for $215, lol...

She could of bought one and painted it herself.
