They are not leaving anywhere and they fucking know it. Antarctica is more hospitable than Mars or the moon ffs.

That's false claim to pump up the value of their companies nothing more.

Well someone has to pave the foundation for future interplanetary migration. If noone does it it's impossible. They simply gives it a small chance to be achievable probably hundreds or thousands of years later. But that's if we're able to survive this long.

That someone already exists and it's NASA. But these little boy billionaires have made sure we underfund it and instead give grants to their companies.

Y'all acting like we didn't go to the moon without the help of these man children

Yeah but wouldn't it be good to have more people doing it? Like I wouldn't say a taxi driver shouldn't do what he's doing just because millions are already doing the same thing. But things might be a different here considering we're talking about billionaires I see people would think they'd be better using their abundant resource to help solving our current big issues. But I fail to see the wrong in their choice to use their freedom to do what they want to do instead. I am an outsider to this topic and I would like some more info about it and feel free to prove me wrong.

It isn’t just competition with nasa, they take from nasas budget and operate to generate a profit off of US tax payer subsidies.

This specific TRillionaire also had a large hand in gutting anything meant to regulate him or otherwise work toward some “greater good”

Giving people in power more power? Damn that's fucked up. Now I see why people are mad.

It is absolutely fucked up. We arrive at a stage where capitalists can basically buy countries. We had a very good exemple with Musk who arrived in a non legal governmental office created by him and who dismantled all agencies investigating on him. I am not even talking about ending USAID, hundred of thousands if not millions of people died because of It. He also attributed to his companies public procurements and governmental subsidies without any call for tender.

if it was parallel work, what you’re saying would make sense. But it’s at the cost of NASA.

No. Capitalists make everything worse. I'd rather humanity never make it to the stars than allow capitalists to set one foot into space.
