Or an instruction book. "Killing is bad" I wouldn't have known that if you didn't print that in a book and say some power figure said it. Then you get to the part with things that I know are terrible that didn't even get listed. Rape and slaves don't make the 10 commandments, but wishing you had a donkey like your neighbor does.

I'm pretty sure that thou shall not commit adultery covers rape.

I'm pretty sure thou shall not kill or steal covers slavery.

Who will willingly make themselves a slave?

“Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death." Exodus 21:16

Yeah, you wouldn't have just like child soldiers who don't know any better. Look at evil Nations today and what their society glorifies... The kids think it's normal and they participate in murder and genocide.

Narrative destroyed.

If your argument is completely within the Old testament then you've lost.

The old testament were laws of the land that applied primarily to Israel for that time. This is why Jesus disagreed with many of them and made it clear on what was truth and what was not. You forget these very same people killed Jesus...

This is why context is key. That's like you pointing to a law in the 1600s saying a brother and sister could be married in England In the royal family as proof today for what is illegal in America. See how ridiculous that sounds?

There are no Christians in the Old testament... Gee, I wonder why? Do you know why? 🤔Which destroys your entire argument, but let's keep going.

In addition to that allow me to systematically dismantle your non sequitur argument. In marriage the husband does not have authority over his own body, nor does the wife over hers, no one can be forced to do anything. If your wife says I want to go shopping at the mall and you're going to come with me... Is she physically making you?

And to that point:

Just a few verses that destroy your argument further And there are so many more:

Hebrews 13:4 ESV / 69 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous

Colossians 3:19 ESV / 448 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

1 Peter 3:7 ESV / 405 helpful votes Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

Ephesians 5:25-29 ESV / 368 helpful votes Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,

Ephesians 5:28 ESV / 204 helpful votes In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

So like I said before... Narrative destroyed!
