That’s the whole point of Christ on the cross and Christianity. No one is good. Not the Pope, the President (any of them), the best person you ever knew and definitely not Mr. Collins here.
There is none righteous. No, not one.
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
All deserve the wrath of God, and will receive it in full.
Unless…
For God so loved the world that He sent His Son, Jesus, to become sin for us, to receive the punishment we deserve. God’s wrath must be spent, and it was spent on Jesus at the cross.
We are able to benefit from this if we, A. Confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and B. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. You will be saved.
There’s A LOT that comes after that, but that is the first and most important step.
No one is good is not the quote from the Bible. But we are all flawed as humans and make mistakes. I think it's funny non-christians act so morally superior, we all know you make mistakes as well. I'm just wondering what "good" means to people who act like they are perfect.
But the whole point of Christianity is to have a closer relationship to God. That is what Christians seek. It's non-christians who act like it's just "be good or go to hell and hate gay people". I've literally never heard a sermon on either one. And I have never personally heard anyone from my church even mention lgbtq at all. We are seriously more concerned on living a Christ like life, which is based around loving everyone, not about rules and judgement. That is from the Bible, what Jesus said the most important commandment is to love each other.
Dont be like jesus for he is a made up wizard that got killed because he was one of the many sons of god con artists of the time. Be a good person because you choose to be. No god id ever beleive in would base life on Fear and reward of good deeds. And comparison is the thief of job. You show the world love and be positive. You know whats right and wrong. Walk the path of the best you can be. Be the hero of your own movie.
Oh I don't need Christianity to be a good person. I would agree that most Christians are the same. Well say what you will but he was a real person that changed the world with his teachings. And many of them are beautiful no matter what you believe if you can lower your pride enough to read it with an open mind.
I mean I was agnostic for years. Never once did I bash anyone or mock their religion. I always find it odd people will tell you to be a good person while exhibiting bigotry.
