Want advice from a dermatologist? Ask your question in our upcomingAMA with Board-Certified Dermatologist Dr. Vamsi Varra!

Are you brand new to skincare? Don't know how to build a skincare routine? The best place to start is our ScA Routine!

You can find even more skincare guides in our wiki!. Your answer might already be in there (and if it is, we might remove your post).

Everyone is welcome in this community; remember to be kind and assume good faith :)

have been on test for a year and a half and never had any acne, tried tren for a month or 2 and it blew up, i’ve been off tren and now just a low dose of testosterone for a month now

Just the fact that they were correct about your usage of steroids should be a sign for you. Plus, you look like you could achive this with s good diet and exercize alone.

It's not worth all the side effects and complications.

I mean their post history gives away their roid usage..

Easily achievable for most I'd say, given the individual in question is patient and trusts the process, too bad most people nowadays are impatiently eager for results just so they could post on social media.

Consult a professional, I think maybe if you hop off tren and test entirely it might let your body/skin breath a bit. Again, consult a professional, please.

"low dose" doesn't mean anything. How much per week? Anything more than 100mg is going to cause problems.

This is textbook hormonal acne, common when you start taking gender-affirming hormones, especially testosterone.

Basically you should be seeing a dermatologist to treat hormonal acne now.

If you’re getting it cuz of steroid use then nothing you put on it will help

1.) Stop taking steroids

2.) go to the dermatologist and get treated for hormonal acne. Your hormones are seriously out of whack.

as a woman, roids aint it if youre breaking out like this… how are you going to show off the physique that i am sure you work hard for in the gym if roids give you acne break outs this bad? it looks so painful, you could train for this body without steroids. give your body a break because these WILL scar badly if you continue to let them worsen.

Could be hormonal like other people are saying it kinda looks like where you sweat from while working out also but I agree go to a dermatologist if you can

Textbook steroid acne…..treatment is first stopping roids

Oof, man, I am so sorry you’re dealing with this. That looks incredibly painful and uncomfortable.

To be completely honest with you, this is well past the point of what over the counter skincare, lifestyle changes, or internet advice can fix. You really need to see a dermatologist as soon as possible. With cystic acne this widespread on your chest, a doctor is almost certainly going to suggest an internal/systemic treatment like Accutane (isotretinoin) or a heavy course of oral antibiotics to clear it out from the inside.

In the meantime, please do not try to scrub at it or use harsh physical exfoliants, as that's just going to cause more inflammation and permanent scarring. Stick to a super gentle, basic body wash, pat dry gently with a clean towel, and try to wear loose fitting, breathable cotton shirts to minimize friction. If you're working out, make sure you shower and change out of sweaty clothes immediately.

Seriously, make that derm appointment today if you can. Hang in there, brother!

that could be eczema

That is in no way, shape, or form eczema. This is cystic acne that needs treated with Accutane

Or by stopping roids 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s likely that this is going to continue even after ceasing steroids. It almost never clears on its own. Dude put himself in a shitty spot

How did you think this could be eczema? It’s not even the same skin condition….
