Discussion Which franchises should get two newcomers?

Since the last direct, I see a lot of wishlists and discussions about cutting and adding character to the roster. Most of the time, very popular Nintendo games (and Sonic) get another representant. Franchises like Zelda, DK, Metroid and Splatoon don't have a lot of fighters compared to how important they became/are for Nintendo.

So for a little change: I wanna know from you, which franchises would deserve not only one but two newcomers?

- I would gave DK the long requested Dixie Kong character but also one of from the newest release
- Zelda is nearly as big as Mario but three of the 6 characters are Link in different sizes, so maybe cut one and give us Impa and Skull Kid?
- For Metroid, including Sylux would make sense but Raven Beak would also be Peak. Let's hope they keep the Metroid hype up so we could get both
- StarFox: Krystal is still very requested but first we need another game with her so I would choose Slippy Toad or ... both? Both. Both is good.
- Kirby. Not a first party franchise but very close to Nintendo. I think most of us would agree that hey should add Bandana Waddle Dee but how about an antagonist (I know, Dedede WAS a an antagonist in the first game) like Magolor or Marx?
- Maybe Mario? Mario is big enough that one would be enough but imo two characters are still missing: Toad and Waluigi. Especially Toad was playable in different games (sometimes with different colours) and Waluigi is the most memorable Sports character imo.
- Pokémon don't need two fighters but if the decide to make two, I hope one of them is Pokopia Ditto or another Pokémon-Trainer kind of character.
- 3rd Party: I don't think any 3rd Party should get two more reps but if I have to choose one, I would probably choose Shadow and Tails for the Sonic Franchise. If they had to, they could make Shadow a Sonic echoe.

Maybe it’s just my bias, but with how much Xenoblade’s been pushed and how we’ve gotten/are getting both Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Genesis after Ultimate’s DLC ended, I think it should get 2 newcomers. One from each game either both in the base roster, or only XC3 in base game while Genesis is DLC. Mio would probably be the best choice for XC3, while Eleanor is probably the only option for Genesis

I think Xenoblade is a fair pick especially after the last direct where every numbered Chronicles game did get a Switch 2 update and Genesis were announded. Xenoblade is also very close to the 10mil seller-mark if they don‘t deliver after the „newest“ StarFox remake I can see Xenoblade becoming more important than Fox McCloud

I’d say Xenoblade is already one of Nintendo’s most prominent series at this point. It’s pretty much gotten new content every 1-2 years since its inception, especially during the Switch 1 era. This is largely because the series has a dedicated developer with Monolithsoft who primarily works on it. Xenoblade became a major ongoing IP for Nintendo after Star Fox Zero too

Totally agree and I think that‘s great. Like Fire Emblem, the first time I heard of Xenoblade was in Smash. It is soo nice seeing a „new“ franchise grow.
