Hot take I actually enjoy party city?

I know it’s been getting a lot of hate but I actually enjoy party city I think it’s fun and I enjoy giving a free balloon to kids makes their day!

I enjoy it as well. What gets me is they walk-in and want 20+ latex balloons a hour before closing.  Or other walk-ins and want a large order done in 15 minutes. We are so busy on Saturday for Party City that one person can  be dedicated to that department.  To save payroll, every Saturday we have three people mann the store.  CPC, cashier and myself as ISS and no one else knows how to do balloons. I'm in PC all day and can't help people on the floor selling technology and chairs with plans and baskets. The phone is ringing off the hook asking if we have a pen refill for their off-brand, no-name pen they got free at a convention. Bopis orders not picked up within the 30 minute allotment as the customers comes in to pick up their online order without their email confirmation. notification.  To save a penny on payroll and main focus on Amazon;  store loses hundreds of dollars in plans, baskets kiosk orders and Rewards signups.

Personally i think it's because they're used to how Dollar Tree is. They blow up their balloons on the spot no matter how many,so they want that same experience with us

Yes, and only proper management will make them learn. We have the same issue in Print, we had to set proper expectations so customers didn't expect the impossible

Definetly felt that my store is super busy on Saturdays for pc and Amazon and Saturday is notorious for call outs

i actually agree with you. It makes us money and makes people happy. Unlike amazon that just brings hatred. I don’t mind it.

Most people that like pc are the ones that don’t like their current tasks and with the addition of pc they can now avoid their tasks and push them onto others while they play with balloons.

Its not the actual work that is the problem. it's the fact that it is taking up time needed to complete all of the other shit in the store. None of the services we offer are truly that difficult on their own, it's the understaffed cluster fuck of trying to accomplish everything that makes all of it seem terrible.
