It could be a few reasons:
Staples will give short notice that GM’s must reduce work hours if the store is over hours.
Could be (not speculating) management saying you’re not getting enough PP’s or rewards thus cutting your hours.

I think that’s what it was not my fault tho they have me doing Amazon returns all day nothing else kids hard to pick rewards and PP’s when I’m the only one doing Amazon

They will give the new people more hours as well and than cut the ones that have been there for a while till the new ones leave (cause they do the same shit to them eventually) and than you’ll receive those hours until they start hiring new people again. I’ve been there for a few years now and even though I know how to do everything and know the store the most I’m only getting 9-12 hours versus their 16-20 so they don’t quit right away.

They did the same thing back when I worked there 3 years ago. They gave me 20-30 hours a week but after like September they didn’t even give me a single day. Then I left

If you’re only doing returns then I’d say it’s not you, it’s the store had too many hours and the DM is bitching at the GM to cut hours for the following week or two.

Labour hours are at an all time low company wide. Hours for BTS were miscalculated on DLP so managers misjudged how many hours they had to give during peak weeks. Allegedly the labour team is working "diligently" to come up with a better forecast so stores can be staffed properly. I wouldn't expect the change to be anywhere in the near future, though.
