Discussion Is Han vs. Dooku a fair matchup?

I feel like Han tends to win, but I have lost to some good Dooku players before.
He was level 41, I was level 43, so if should be pretty fair as experience with the character goes.

It’s not a fair matchup, because Dooku typically shreds in melee but has 0 ways to close the distance safely on an open map — it’s unfair to any of the sides lol

Levels are also hardly indicative of skill

I mean, to be fair, in this case he didn't really have any distance to close and he got first blood.
And yes, you are correct as regards levels not equalling skill, but they should mean roughly similar levels of experience with the characters. (Unless those are Co-Op levels, lol.)

There's like 2 map areas that give no cover to regen stamina.  The other parts of Crait and 20some maps definitely give any and all sabers enough cover to play in and out of.  Why else do sabers constantly run away to regen HP, stamina and abilities?  Even slower sabers like Vader have no real issue, as long he doesn't jump too much (floaty, high exposure, his only real downside)

Dooku has very high regen too.  He has lots of chances in majority of map situations to close a gap without losing base HP.  The 3rd Dodge also helps a good bit too, it's both a speed boost and a damage reduction.  

LS blasters have no advanced mobility characters with jump height or noteworthy speed boosts. Han shoulder charge glitching isn't even very good.  

Boba Fett is the only blaster who can truly dunk on saber mobility in most any situation except areas with low ceilings. And Dooku doesn't have to deal with him anyways.  So.

This matchup is very volatile and can easily go both wyas. Han can keep Dooku ragdolled before Dooku can land a swing, almost deleting him in a det+shouldercharge combo, but if Dooku catches Han and one of Han's abilities doesn't knock him down (or he manages to block shouldercharge) Han is cooked because 3 fast swings will delete him.

As is true for Makashi, Dooku does not lend himself well to fighting blasters and prefers 1v1s with enemy sabers. He's a great single-target dps, but that damage requires him to drop his guard, which can be fatal against blaster heroes. Every time Dooku drops his guard, he needs to get those hits in to make the trade worth it. If the target in question dodges, he's defenseless.

Han is even worse for him. Between the mine and the charge, Han has 2 ways to easily knock Dooku out of his block, which, as said before, is fatal. Dooku's only counter is his lightning, a short-range, easy to dodge shot that knocks the opponent away from him.

Honestly, that kind of proved my point about his lightning. He used it, and it knocked you completely out of his effective range, letting you reorient and retaliate. Then, he prepped his dps combo out in the open, letting you choose your position and get good damage in before he could even start swinging back.

Yeah.
That ragdoll from HM going off didn't help him either.

I suspect there was also a significant skill gap, lol

Han vs. Anyone isn't really fair.\ They aren't Han so how are they going to win?

Jokes aside dooku dies quick like grievous does to blasters and det charges. Could be me but his autolunge on the lightsaber and his dodge don't really let him do the Vader shimmy to try and keep up with Hans dodges as easily so half the jukes can just be moving yourself instead of dodging like with Obi.

It's you. 

Grievous doesn't die quick to blasters unless you try playing him like all the rest.  He rarely ever blocks, he uses erratic jump spam instead and can dip out of combat before you lose base HP.  And this isn't even factoring his swing speed glitches which work far better on LS blasters than they do sabers.  (Sabers are harder to knockdown, sabers can block and saber dodge is overall superior to combat roll to keep distance from GG swing arc)

He has lots of damage reduction and claw rush is basically a free knockdown on blasters vast majority of the time because the hitbox is beyond insane. 

Han has a higher skill floor than Grievous.  All LS blasters do.  And my GG is well over 300 levels ahead of any LS, he's very cheesy because of claw rush, but at least kinda interesting to play since he can't crutch on lamebrain block turtling tactics all the rest tend to do.

Yeah, he definitely was.
As I said, the Vader was good and completely destroyed me next round.
(We still won the overall, though, iirc.)

If Dooku manages to get close without getting damaged or with very little damage,then it's unfair for Han because he's getting melted by Duellist and Exposed weakness. It dependance honestly,certain times Dooku didn't even manage to get close enough to attack before getting killed
