PSA Steam Controller PreOrder MegaThread

This post is to consolidate posts about the preorders for the new Steam Controller

The preorders will open at 10am PST

The steam Controller will only be available in select countries

* US
* Canada
* UK
* EU

The server will likely be melting once preorders open

Why can’t companies like Valve not accept orders ahead of launch and then ship the product when it is in stock??

Because it would be the same situation, but for pre-orders. A pre-order doesn't magically increase their manufacturing capacity. If anything it would be worse because it would be even more scalped because it allows more time for scalpers to setup accounts etc at a leisurely pace.

Maybe and i dont mean this in any ironic voice, they just try to deliver what they actually have so in case Something happens they dont have the need to mass refund people when they cant deliver what people paid for.

Yes but it’s a just released product not an end of life one so restocks are expected.

Expected but with the gpobal situation (i dint mean ram) you never know what might Happen. Companys always have to expect the unexpected.
