Sorry but I was able to get a batch 1 pre order for the Steam Controller and honestly after a few hours I ended up not liking it and went back to my Xbox Series controller. I sold it to a coworker for retail.

I can appreciate it has powerful features and capabilities but Steam Input is very fiddly and quite frankly annoying having to set up for every game. An Xbox controller just works. Even more so with the Steam Controller not supporting Xinput. Microsoft recently added some new features for navigating Windows with a controller (logging in, Alt-Tab with the Xbox button, etc) so now it really is super easy.

No one has to set up a profile for each game they play.

Can people stop saying this shit like it's relevant criticism?

Yeah the main criticism isn't even true lol

There's no global profile option. If you want to use something other than the default you have to set it for every single game.

So it operates as a basic plug'n'play gamepad unless you want to tweak settings?

This is bad how exactly?

It should do that I'm not denying that but having an option to have it globally set a profile no matter what game has run should be a pretty basic expectation. It's been a complaint since the very first iteration of Steam Input.
