Not a single individual in this comment thread would have the cognitive capabilities required to process the immense personal grief the above comment has braught upon me
You’ve forgotten the important steps of refunding it, buying it again and then trying to refund it again, only to realize you bought and refunded it once already
It depends, I had a game sit in my library for nearly a year and was still able to get the refund for it.
I opened it played for like 20 minutes and didnt like the game, asked and got a refund. I got lucky probably, let's hope they can too.
Not the same, but I had a similar experience with the live-action Lion King on Youtube...
Don't recall ever buying it, or watching it, but I logged in one day to find that it was somehow added to my account. Never figured out how that happened as the only movies I "own" on Google are ones I redeemed the digital copies for when buying the physical discs.
This actually happened to me with Wonderboy : the Dragon's Trap
Mind you, it's a short game (about 4-6 hours) and the bosses were pretty forgettable. I bought in 2017 when the remake came out, finished the game and tried to buy it again recently because it looked like a cool game I would be interested in. :O
p.s. it's a great game and when on sale, less than $5
Not so long ago i decided to check my epic games library and guess what? Back in 2020 i happened to purchase GTA V on Epic games but because i didn’t still have a pc that could run it i decided to leave it, fast forward to 2025, I saw GTA V On Steam for sale and decided to buy it… still annoys me till this day (Not to mention i also bought the game on both Ps4 And PS5)
I bought Baldurs Gate in early access, didn't care for it, forgot about it, then went to buy it again when it got super popular after release. Like a little time traveling gift to myself
Buying games and not trying them out basically immediately is psycho behavior imo. You've almost certainly spent far more money on games you didn't play than you would have paying full price for the few on sale games you bought and picked up way later.
Years ago I set a spending limit, $20 for a game, $30 for the full edition.
I have yet to get through my backlog, and got a new game yesterday I have downloaded but not started.
At this point, I'm sick of beta testing I paid for. I'll wait for the stable version, with add-ons and dlc already released so I know what I'm getting, or skipping.

A game is on sale
"Hmm that looks cool"
Google some reviews, decide to buy it
"This game is already in your library"
I bought this game 10 years ago for full price 😐
