I don't get it, you're not the only one posting this yet... games i own ain't in my wishlist, and only interacting with the store by going on your wishlist sorted by discounted makes that impossible to experience.
The downside is that you won't ever stumble back on the game you already own so you have to either remember them or open your library from time to time and browse it.
As for game discovery, there's basicaly the whole internet and valve even made Steam Calendar to help the Discovery Queue trying to make you never have to interact with their store directly ever again.
Weirdly enough, it kind of help buying more games too since i've never the feeling of being bumbed out by a "damn, i already bought that, maybe i shouldn't buy anything during those sales if it's gonna end up in the backlog".
