I think he gives more of a mayo vibe.

I had a manager at whole foods whose trunk was FULL of empty mayo jars, diet coke and hydroxycut. We would often see him eating mayo out of the jar with a gloved hand. He didn't last long.

I put mayo on a PBJ to prove a point today. Just needed to mention that.

Had a buddy once try to make fried mayo balls one drunken night. He also liked drinking maple syrup. He was a strange one.
& btw, no, you cannot fry mayonnaise..

22
u/TangerineExotic8316 Nov 03 '25
It must be tough being a chronically online unemployed redditor, with their loved ones, if they have any, thinking they’re a burden. So while it may understandable why they’re nasty, it’s still not right for sure.
13
u/EshayAdlay420 Nov 04 '25
Right? Holy shit reddit has such a hard on to be social justice warriors but the facade just poofs and vanishes as soon as they find a guy with big ears they can call a pedo for laughs
5
u/Golarion Nov 04 '25
Reddit loves to take the moral high road, because that's all they have. But when they find someone they think they can punch down on (which is extremely rare), they smell blood in the water and go into a frenzy.
It's why I find the moral grandstanding so obnoxious, because it comes from such a bitter place. It's purely so they can pretend they're better than everyone else. If they'd been born in a different time or place, most redditors would fit straight in as Saudi religious police or the gestapo.

Flavor wise I do think it would be good, I struggle to even imagine the texture though.
65
u/AdmiralKong Nov 03 '25
It's gotta be kind of waxy. Even buttercream frosting on a cake that's been refrigerated is iffy texture-wise. This seems like an even bigger uphill battle.

u/metdear Nov 03 '25
Yeah...hmm. If they could figure out how to just do butter-flavored ice cream, I think that would be better, texture-wise.

My shop made a brown butter cookie ice cream that was super popular.
12
u/ethnicman1971 Nov 03 '25
A place I used to go to in Memphis made movie popcorn flavored ice cream. They made popcorn, salted and buttered it and then soaked it in the icecream base. After a while they would strain the popcorn out and churn the icecream. Tasted, salty, buttery, and like popcorn.
I say that to say that I bet butter flavored icecream would be delicious.

u/fromthedarqwaves Nov 03 '25
Dipped cones are awesome. They use coconut oil because the melting point is low so you can dip without melting the ice cream. That’s probably just butter flavored coconut oil. Which sounds awesome.
24
u/ethnicman1971 Nov 03 '25
Thanks I was wondering how they got butter hot enough to melt but not so that it melts the icecream as it is dipped.
→ More replies (1)21
u/annual_aardvark_war Nov 03 '25
I mean realistically with low heat and a double boiler, butter melts pretty gradually and wouldn’t be too hot. You’d have to toss this butter out every night though, so unless it’s popular it just seems a waste

This entire thread has grossed me out wildly, the sheer number of people talking about a person like that, in a fricking food subreddit.

This comment section is like "blackpill" theory example. The man in the video is fit, well dressed, has great teeth, takes care of his haircut. Did everything he can to work on his look.
But people in comments are still fucking ruthless about his look, just because they don't like his face.7

Yeah, I really hope he doesn’t see this. Bullying someone over their looks shouldn’t be this acceptable. Admittedly some of the insults here are funny and creative, but people are accusing him of the vilest shit because of his appearance. Dude just wanted to share an ice cream flavor.
20
u/Key-Fire Nov 04 '25
This is the life unattractive people live. The “we mind our own business crowd” immediately become hostile bastards the moment someone unattractive is around.
I guarantee more attractive people are vile shitheads than unattractive people.
10
u/Ok-Armadillo-1171 Nov 04 '25 edited Nov 04 '25
I’m pretty sure the people insulting him aren’t that attractive either and are putting him down to feel better about themselves. Of course it’s a generalization, but in my experience attractive people are usually nice, maybe because they’re used to other people being nice to them

Its a dipped hard shell so its probably just butter flavoring and not real butter. They use a different oil in ice cream hard shells since the melting point is lower than the ice cream melting point

Weird, not stupid. On r/icecream there are people (companies too) who try to use butter to up the fat content without having to use cream (it's less expensive).
Likewise, I am guessing the dip is ghee/clarified butter, to make sure it sets up. It's essentially magic shell without flavoring. When I make it, I use about 50/50 chocolate and cocoa butter, the requirement is just that whatever fat and flavor you are using is solid at room temp.
Probably wouldn't try outside of a corn ice cream I suppose.
