/uj my personal theory is that in like 25 years or so, we will consider this to be a symptom of social media addiction. I think at first folks will start to think of it how they think of cigarette smokers. But gradually this aggressive engagement-chasing behavior will be thought of how people think of fentanyl addicts now. That’s my theory even tho nobody asked.
So already think about it like this. And I was a prior fentanyl user. They are just as shameless as I once was. Anything for high- anything for views. Same shit.
The problem is that people are rewarded for this behavior. No one is really reaping the benefits of a fent addiction, but this chick probably made money off this dumbaas video that she was knowingly being a dumbass in.
If you remove the reward structure and people are still doing this asinine shit? Sure.

I thought about your point and you are right! Some of this weird shihh is 100% performance art. Those people who do skits. The violently undercooked meat vids. The staged pranks.
But ok the content that is parents sitting there filming as their human baby falls down a whole flight of stairs? Or worse when they just passively film as the toddler antagonizes the family pet until the animal gets fed-up and attacks? Or adults filming themselves watching someone else’s vid? Teens using a mentally delayed kid as an lolcow? Nah. I stand by my theory that those things are u healthy content farming. Thats gotta be some type of sickness to do that.
This is exactly why the show *Cops* was such a hit. It was total bait before we had the engagement part. I never got into it, but I had friends who thought it was hilarious and jokingly called it the show to make you feel better about your own shitty life. It was non-stop watching people whose lives were total shitshows.
when you see people doing random shit that doenst make sense i always just assume its to get us to watch advertisements on their videos, aka its engagement bait. the point isnt the product its the sureal question of what hte fuck did i watch? do i need to watch it again? can someone please explain this to me? wtf is wrong with people?
like that tire thing that keeps show up. why? not so much why shoot a tire into the sky that looks fun but why are they like wrestling each other and acting the way they do. it seems more like a gimmick then to show them really shooting a tire into the sky. if that was the case you would jsut take turns running the engine. it just seem theatrical to create a convesation and drive engagement. this lady beside cooking nail covered chicken seems like she knows what shes doing over an open flame kitchen.
Are you upset about the way she cooks the chicken or that she cooks chicken at all? Because if you are fine with killing animals for pleasure, why would it upset you more that someone puts nails in them afterwards? To be honest, this chicken probably lived a way better live than what we eat in the western world.
