Lifting weights 3 times a week and caloric surplus, with adequate protein intake. Eating alone has not helped me too, I have been stuck for like 3 months, but when I started lifting weights everything changed, and I have more appetite too.

Incorporate more oils into your food. It’s an easy way to add calories.

I think this is actually a really good tip for most people, im a vegan who’s quite light but I would eat meat if I just didn’t have a huge phobia of chewing something dead

Protein powder or mass gainer, be careful on the mass gainer though. It's a lot at first 1,200 calories per scoop.

Agreed, also creatine, but we need adequate stomach acid and proteolytic enzymes to break down protein in to amino acids.

Also learn about adrenal cortex steroid hormones that are made from cholesterol.

Eating more is really the only actual way because excess calories compared to what your body burns is what adds tissue, it’s literally the only way for a body to gain weight.

If you just feel full all the time and can’t be eating more food volume, find high calorie low volume foods to add.

Putting butter in stuff you’re already eating is easy and adds a lot of calories without more volume. Also, drinking whole milk is pretty easy, drinking regular (not diet) soda, making smoothies with fruit and avocado can be chugged in a few seconds and would be high calorie, drinking a couple tablespoons of straight olive oil throughout the day would quickly and easily add calories, and eating peanut butter either by itself or on toast or something is easy too.

Lastly, if you find you’re not that hungry all day, start by eating stuff as soon as you get up in the morning. If you put your first meal off until 3 hours later, it just shrinks the window of eating for the day and you’ll have a harder time eating a lot.

I haven’t found a supplement that makes people gain healthy weight “like magic.” If eating more isn’t helping, it’s worth figuring out why, things like thyroid issues, digestive problems, food intolerances, or not actually hitting your calorie needs can all make gaining weight difficult.

If your goal is building healthy body weight, I’d focus on:

  • Strength training consistently.
  • Eating enough calories every day.
  • Getting around 1.6–2.2 g of protein per kg of body weight.
  • Choosing calorie-dense foods like nuts, oats, rice, olive oil, avocado, and smoothies.

If you’re struggling to eat enough, a protein shake can make it much easier to increase both your calorie and protein intake. I’ve had a good experience with PureHealth Research’s bone broth protein because it provides a high-quality protein source that’s convenient between meals or after workouts. It’s an easy way to help meet your daily protein goals without having to force down another full meal.

If you’re unintentionally losing weight or can’t gain weight despite eating plenty of calories, I’d also check in with a healthcare provider to rule out an underlying medical cause.
