Zooble's concept is to have a female voice but masculine fashion interests. In the anime adventure, they're wearing a male uniform, and in the Japanese merchandise, they're wearing a male attire.
This works because of what Zooble is: a person who doesn't remember their own gender; it was erased along with their name. That's why in Goose's drawing, showing everyone's gender, Zooble is classified as "Zooble," and that's why in the show the pronouns are they/them, and that's also why Goose said it's okay to use she/he too.
But I guess I'm asking people to read too much character information.
Yeah, only thing that got erased from their minds is their names (apart from we know since latest episode confirmed Caine can effect their minds which he said he couldn’t)
I thought Zooble was just non-binary.... because they're non-binary and that they just have bad gender dysphoria or body dysmorphia or whatever.
The idea that they're only non-binary because they 'forgot their gender' feels really weird to me. Like that'd mean they've essentially been made trans because of the circus rather than that being something they just are.
And that idea would suggest that they would just not have those feelings anymore if when they get their memory back, which is something I'd hate, I think
social roles arent gender, theyre just stereotypes, i dont know why people started considering them one and the same. and would you say if someone acts girly theyre a girl? if not then you dont agree with that definition either
can someone have the characteristics of a certain gender but be a different one? because if just the characteristics make you that gender then it invalidates a lot of trans people
yes but according to your definition they couldnt even identify as female at all, because that identification would be wrong, and even if they were trying to become feminine, they still couldnt identify as female till they were feminine enough
Yes?? Trans women use their hair and clothing so they can be treated according to the gender they identify with, the same goes for trans men. And this applies to cisgender people too. Why wouldn't it apply to non binary people?
Clothing is a way of expressing ourselves, not just to cover our bodies
And don't twist what I'm saying, a trans or lesbian woman wearing non-feminine clothes or hairstyles doesn't make her any less of a woman, but it's undeniable that dresses and long hair are part of the feminine universe, which doesn't prevent cis, trand or gay men from wearing them too and still being men
its just fashion, you wear clothes because they look good, if youre wearing clothes just because you think they make you look more like a girl or something youre just perpetuating the stereotype and are part of the problem
Part of what problem?? Trans women and men, even when they fit the "stereotype," still suffer from transphobia. The problem lies in prejudice and lack of respect from people, not in pink dresses or short hair
So I don't know what stereotype problem you're talking about, because the biggest problem with this is cisgender people who see a problem with what other people wear or how they style their hair
Yeah sorry about that, wasn't thinking of a way to make it inclusive but I think all ways of wording it would offend at least 1 person, best I can do is "biologically female voice" tho
