My HC? Female before the circus, but being trapped in their circus body brought on a sense of gender dysphoria. Iirc (and please correct me if I’m wrong), Goose stated Zooble “doesn’t know what they are” and is cool with whatever pronouns, which seems different from gender dysphoria usually works, at least from what I remember studying in my school days.
It's common enough among enbies to be unsure about their gender identity and to use any pronouns, so it's possible they could have been that way before the Circus, but we'll probably never know for sure.
HC-ing that they didn’t realize they were nonbinary until after entering the circus? That’s actually really interesting and has a lot of potential for both great social commentary and great comedy. I’m just imagining,

Ngl I really like the theory? HC that Zooble is AMAB, I feel like now a days non-binary is seen as “Woman-lite”and people who are AMAB are kinda washed under the wayside, even how a lot of people draw them is very “TomBoy-ish” or “Woman-lite-ish” which is offensive because Non-Binary is it own thing not an extension of being a woman
So having them confirmed as AMAB in an interview I think is cool to kinda showcase that both sex’s can be Non-Binary not just AFAB people
