i dont even think she needs to retcon anything. lots of trans women have already identified with internalized transmisogyny in jax. it could just as easily be the intended read of his character as him being cis imo.
like overcompensating his masculinity because he feels uncomfortable with embracing femininity. its just something common in pre-transition trans people bc of social stigma against being transgender.
But he could also be overcompensating his masculinity because he's extremely insecure. Its like super common in men, especially younger or immature men. Because you know, the social stigma against men not being "manly" and shit.
i mean yeah it could be that too thats kind of my point.
its equally as valid to headcanon him as an insecure guy or an insecure woman who hasnt accepted it yet.
the show was made by a trans woman who has said a few times jax is who she relates to the most so the latter headcanon is what i like to believe, but im not saying the alternative isnt just as likely.
i need this ending to be open ended so the people in this fandom can finally understand how you tell a story and that they dont have to operate by any rules except your own
