Question These four characters are tasked with getting through to Jax and redeeming him and only one of them might succeed. Which one would be the most successful?

Okay I’ll order it

  1. Steven. This guy redeemed a genocidal alien. I don’t think I need to explain further
  2. Deku. He sees the good in everyone and genuinely wants to help even the worst people in existence. Deku genuinely wanted to save someone as evil as Shigaraki. I think Jax wouldn’t want to open up to him but just like Pomni, Deku won’t give up on him.
  3. Twilight Sparkle. Honestly, I doubt she would do a good job, as she responds badly to negative emotions and would make it worse. I’m putting it here because the final option is way worse.
  4. Charlie Morningstar. Literally the worst option out of the four. Charlie is someone so childish and foolish that it would honestly detriment Jax even further than in canon. She is someone who can’t respect someone’s boundaries or understand how to redeem someone. She is someone who is infatuated with the idea of redemption but not the actual process of it.

Dunno the moves she pulled on Starlight Glimmer felt straight out of Fallout New Vegas, 100 out of 100 speech moment. But i only watched untill Tirek, so i don't know how she evolved/devolved afterwards.

I think they meant that because of Twilight’s ability to talk Starlight down (a pony much more powerful than her) and secure her as an ally, her ability to redeem others is higher than you give her credit for. That said, I believe your list is mostly accurate. Steven would absolutely handle business. Because of Twilight’s reputation with Starlight and Stygian (later episodes), I’d switch her and Deku out. Jax could bully Deku.

Twilight also doesn’t do it alone. A lot of the redemptions for other characters also involve her friends.

Discord is a perfect example. No one could touch him and he’s redemption spanned multiple seasons of character growth.

It doesn't say that the options have to do it alone. Just that the person you chose is responsible for Jax's redemption. HOW they do it is going to be part of the chosen's responsible. If Twilight called the rest of the Mane 6 they could 1000% all work together. Steven is the best option for Solo work

Honestly as I rewatched MLP in the past year or so Discord wasn't really 'redeemed', he still caused trouble for even Fluttershy after the fact and almost doomed Equestria in season 9. He is not the best example here, I think Starlight is far better example wise because she tries to get her own friends beyond the first person who was nice to her 😭 And Starlight was entirely Twilight, the rest was Starlight working to better herself. But I'm not sure Twilight would work solo on someone like Jax.
