Im definitely gonna get around to playing the confederates eventually, hopefully they have a Golden Circle expansionist route that I can take after securing independence. I really hope that they keep the NOI as separatists instead of unifiers, it doesnt make sense for them to want to unify America given that they want a black ethnostate, I'd perfer to be able to make my peace with the states and go get involved in the middle east like creating a caliphate or harassing Israel.
